Maks
The fight had been exactly what I needed to relieve the pressure that was slowly crushing me. I had never fought Vadim before but had seen some of his previous fights. He was a force to be reckon with, exactly the level of skill set I needed in order to feel challenged.
After the fight, all I could think about was getting back to my place to ensure Nadia was okay. I trusted Leo, but if something happened to her in my absence, I wouldn't ever be able to forgive myself. All for being a selfish bastard.
I exit the ring and am immediately pounced on by Evelina. I grit my teeth as I feel her hand land on my arm possessively.
"I thought you were done for," she teases. Trailing her finger up my bicep. I ignore her and shove off her touch. "Where are you rushing off to?" She looks up at me through her eyelashes seductively.
"Somewhere you're not," I bite. She laughs, the sound instantly grating on my nerves. I guess my bitterness towards her at the last fight wasn't enough to shake her off. Evelina says something no doubt flirtatious in response, but I tune it out when I hear Nadia's name being yelled over the crowd by a familiar voice.
I jerk my head up and lock eyes with the princess across the gym. She looks like she's seen a ghost, her already pale face turned paler under the fluorescents. I watch as Leo pulls her into the crowd and they disappear. I immediately dart after them, taking long strides until I see her long sweeping ponytail weaving in and out of the crowd.
I reach out and grab her arm, jerking her back into my chest and twisting her around to face me.
"What the fuck are you doing here?" I snarl inches from her face. She reels back, an equal furious expression marring her features.
"I was curious where my bodyguard had ran off to. It seems he's a bit of an adrenaline junky," she snaps.
"It's none of your fucking business where I go. I told you to stay at home." She jerks her arm from my hard grip but still refuses to back down from me.
"Yes, I'm fully aware of your orders. To bad you don't follow your own orders, bodyguard." She gives a scathing look that is sharp enough to cut through metal.
"We'll discuss this after I take your ass home." I grab her by the upper arm.
"Let go of me!" She tries to break free from my grip but I hold steady. I was never letting her out my sight again until this whole thing blew over. I feared her recklessness and stubbornness would be both of our undoing.
"Maybe she should ride with me. You both seem really upset." Leo sounds behind us. A crippling rage shoots itself up my spine and I can't seem to keep it under control.
I whip around and punch Leo square in the face. He stumbles back, before clutching his bloodied nose. The crowd standing around us seem more interested in my display of rage than the fight going on in the ring.
"What the fuck was that for?!" He exclaims. I rush at him and grab him by the collar, jerking him up upright.
"I told you to keep her at my place. What part of that did you not fucking understand?" I yell in his face.
"Let him go!" Nadia yells, beating her fists on my back. I turn to face her, Leo still in my clutches. "Let him go and I will go with you willingly asshole!" She bites.
My chest rises and falls rapidly. My rage threatening to boil over again but I somehow reign it in and release Leo.
"You still owe me dinner jackass," Leo grounds out before stumbling towards the exit.
