Chapter twenty-eight

Annie POV

I was a crying mess. I couldn't believe that I'm crying because of him. I don't even know why I'm crying. We knew that it wasn't something serious, but I don't know why it hurts so much. I calmed down. I unlocked my bedroom door and saw Niki standing there. Niki spoke up. "You love him, don't you?" I widened my eyes and looked at him. "W-what no! It's not that it's just..." I didn't know myself what it was. Niki smiled. "It's okay, Noona. Do you really think that he doesn't love you?" I looked at him confused. "What are you saying?" Niki chuckeld lightly. "He really loves you, trust me. Everyone can see it. I bet the others know it, too, but didn't say anything because you guys didn't officially become a couple." I shook my head. "Nonsens, he doesn't - we don't love each other." Niki came in and sat on my bed. "If you guys don't love each other, then why was he always ready to fight anyone and everyone who was a little too close to you? Why do you think he was bullying you all these years? And the most important thing is, why are you crying if you don't love him?. I don't know what you guys talked about, but everyone can clearly see that you guys love each other."

I didn't know what to say. "Then why is he pushing me away? Why was it so easy for him to tell me to .." I exhaled. "You didn't see the way he was looking and talking. He doesn't love me." Niki was thinking and smirked after a few seconds. "Should we find out if he loves you or not?" I raised an eyebrow. "How?" He grinned at me. "Let me make him mad and jealous, but you need to play along, okay? Out of nowhere, I'm going to get a little close to you, but don't worry, I won't do anything!" I looked out of my window and thought about it. "I don't know.." He looked at me. "Or you're going to 'get to know' someone. Someone from school or work if you don't want me to do anything." I got mad at Jay again. "No! You know what, I don't care. I don't love him, and I will never love him! He doesn't even deserve my anger, sadness, or love!. That piece of shit." I said a little louder. Niki just chuckeld. "Relax, Noona, don't get mad at him.. we kinda know how Jay is. Let's give it a try, hm?" I scoffed and rolled my eyes. "What's better with you or a stranger?"

"Stranger, just in case he gets really mad and wants to beat the person up. I don't want to get hurt. My poor, beautiful face." I just looked at him dumbfounded and laughed. "Are you serious right now?" He just looked at me and grinned. "Hell yeah! My beautiful face, hello!" I just shook my head. "Unbelievable." I exhaled and looked at my hands. Niki looked at me. "Aish, Noona, come on, don't be sad. If you guys are truly meant for each other, you guys will find your ways back." I just nodded, and he hugged me. "Should we go back?" I nodded and let go of him. I went back to the living room with him. Hearina looked at me. "You good?" I nodded. "Yeah, I'm good." Jake claped with his hands. "Okay, guys, I'm hungry. Should we go out and eat something?" Everyone agreed and nodded. Everyone got up and put on their shoes. We went out to a restaurant. After we arrived, we went in and ordered our food. Somehow, I was really hungry and ordered three burgers and a large fries with coke. Sunghoon looked at me. "Are you sure you can eat it all? You never ordered three burgers." I nodded. "I'm really hungry, okay?" I scoffed and rolled my eyes. He put his hands up. "Okay okay relax I just asked." Our food was served, and we started eating. "Woah, so good." Sunoo said and happily ate his food. After 10 minutes, I was already done with my food. Jake looked at me with widened eyes. "You're already done." I nodded. "Yeah, as I said I was really hungry."

No matter how hard I tried to, I couldn't stop thinking about him, and then I realised that I might love him. I gasped and quickly got up and went to the bathroom. Everyone frowned and looked after me. I looked at myself in the mirror and had tears in my eyes. "Fuck..." I mumbled and tears ran down my face. I wiped my tears and took a deep breath in and let it out. I looked at myself in the mirror and fixed my make-up, and went back to the others.

Niki looked at me and whispered. "Everything good, Noona?" I nodded and mumbled "yeah". After we were done eating, we went back home. After a while, Heeseung texted in the group that he's staying with Jay at his house. Niki claped with his hands. "Alright guys, how about we go shopping tomorrow, hm?" Jake looked at him and raised an eyebrow. "So suddenly?" Niki shrugged. "Why not? We need some clothes and we can spend more time together." Niki looked at me and winked at me. I frowned a little confused. "Alright, shopping it is!" Niki said excited. After we were done eating we paid for the food and went back to my house. We were all in the living room and sat down the couch and the floor and watched a movie together. After a few hours, everyone fell asleep. I couldn't sleep, so I went to the kitchen and grabbed myself a drink and took a sip while leaning against the counter. I took my phone out of my pocket and hoped for a message from Jay, but there was none. I clsoed my eyes and exhaled.

Sunoo woke up and walked to the kitchen and saw me. "Can't sleep,hm?" He whispered. I opened my eyes and nodded. He looked at me and stood next to me against the counter. "You wanna talk about it?" He asked gently. I thought about it and shook my head. "Alright, should we go for a late night walk?" I nodded

We put our jackets and shoes on and walked out of the house quietly, not wanting to wake the others up. We didn't talk for a few minutes, but it was a pleasant silence. After a few minutes of walking, we saw Jay sitting on a bench in the park. My heart was beating a little faster once I saw him. Sunoo saw him too and slowly walked up to him. I didn't know if I should walk up to him, too, or not. I stood still where I was and watched sunno walking up to him.
