"Hopefully Bladey and Dimey are excited to see me too!"
"I'm sure they will be," Needle said.
As the minutes passed in the car, the excitement of getting to be back home filled Thread to the brim. After what felt like an eternity, the car pulled up to the house. The throuple helped get Thread out of the car and into her wheelchair. Almost instantly, Thread saw the wheelchair ramp that was installed outside the front door.
"WOAH!" Thread shouted, "Is this just for me?"
"Yes Thread, it's for you," Pin squealed, excited that Thread was already liking the changes they made to the house.
"AWESOME!" The throuple laughed as Thread made her way up the ramp, all by herself, and opened the front door. There she was greeted by the rest of her family, who immediately started showering her with love.
"THREAD!" The group shouted in unison.
"Thread, honey, welcome home!" Donut squealed!
"I missed you so much, Uncle Donut!"
Barf Bag was holding Dimey in her arms, "your little brother wants to say hello!" Barf Bag handed off Dimey to Thread. He looked his big sister in the eyes, a smile starting to form on his face.
"I love you Dimey, we can play together now!" Thread cheered.
Dimey cooed at his big sister, seemingly excited to be reunited with her.
"Hey Thread!" Gaty said, "guess who has a new trick to show you."
Thread was initially confused, but then looked down to see her little cousin Bladey, stumbling across the floor.
"SHE CAN WALK NOW?" Thread shouted.
"Why yes she can, she just took her first steps last week!" Saw replied.
"How much did I miss?" Thread asked, excited to be back with her crazy family.
"Not as much as you'd think," Barf Bag responded, "we're just happy to have you back, Thread."
"I'm happy too!" Thread stated with a smile.
Pin took her wheelchair and started pushing her around the house, "wait until you see everything else we have set up for you!"
Thread started fidgeting in her wheelchair, "Show me, Mommy, show me!" Coiny and Needle followed Thread, eager to see her reactions.
One of the first things they did was take her up to her bedroom, but not before showing her the stair lift that she would use to get up the stairs. After teaching Thread the stairlift, she made it over to her second wheelchair that was upstairs for her, and wheeled into her bedroom. Threads jaw dropped the minute she saw all the cool things that were added to her room.
"THIS IS AWESOME!!" Thread shouted, as she made her way into her now lowered bed.
Coiny nearly had tears in his eyes, "you figured out how to get into that bed pretty quickly, huh?"
A smile crept on Threads face, "Dr. Type taught me how to get in and out of bed a lot easier!"
Needle was very grateful that her rehab paid off, "This is amazing, Thread! You're gonna get the hang of this in no time!"
Thread's room was a masterpiece of accessibility and comfort. From the lowered bed to the easily reachable shelves filled with her favorite books and toys, every detail was carefully designed to make Thread feel right at home. As she explored her new space, Thread couldn't contain her excitement.
"I love it!" she exclaimed, her eyes sparkling with delight. "Thank you, Mommy, Mommy, Daddy, for making everything perfect for me."
Coiny, Pin, and Needle exchanged a proud glance, their hearts swelling with love for their daughter. They knew that the road ahead might have its challenges, but seeing Thread's happiness made it all worthwhile.
After spending some time settling into her room, Thread was eager to explore the rest of the house. With Pin leading the way, they made their way downstairs, where Thread marveled at the accessible kitchen and living area.
"Look, Mommy, I can reach everything!" Thread exclaimed, opening cabinets and drawers with ease. "And the living room is so cozy!"
Needle smiled, her heart full as she watched Thread navigate her new environment with confidence. "I'm so glad you like it, sweetie," she said, giving Thread a hug.
As they continued their tour of the house, Thread's excitement only grew. Every part of the house had been carefully designed to make Thread's life easier and more enjoyable.
Finally, as the day drew to a close and Thread settled in for the night, she couldn't help but feel grateful for her loving family and their unwavering support. Despite the challenges she might face, Thread knew that with her family by her side, she could overcome anything.
