The last task was the task that sealed it. It all started from simple tasks to help them develop a bond with each other, then with their partners. Then there were the little push tasks to nudge them in the right direction. There were tasks to help understand the different lifestyles of the LGBT Community and there were ones that helped them understand what they had between them.
It took time and serious calculations to let everything fall to place but some just had to be the rotten apple out of the bunch.
The Gay Project, however, doesn't have time to play with rotten apples. They have already gotten what they wanted.
...
The door creaked open and Doug froze on the couch where he was trying to entertain himself with Scooby doo.
He didn't have the liver to make any movement until he got slapped on his back, hard.
"Dude! Why so stiff?" Dave shook him and Doug was about to yell at him for creeping up on him but the stench from his breath had him hyperventilating.
"Your breath..." He said between breaths and Dave smacked his head.
"It's not that bad."
"It is." Marc, who just entered the cabin along with the rest of the men they left in the bar, said in unison with Doug.
The kid looked at Marc and rose a brow at him, "And if I don't wash up?"
Marc scoffed as he came closer to the kid, leaning as if to kiss him then said, "Then you don't get to kiss me."
"Too bad. Who said I wanted to-"
"Whoa! Stop!! That is just awful. What did you drink?" Marc covered his nose and backed away from the kid.
Dave glared at him then flipped him off before going up the stairs.
Marc gave everyone a smug look and said, "I can totally handle him."
A couple of them snorted their disagreement and walked to their room and the others, meaning only Ramus, came to watch the cartoon with him.
"Wait, no one believes I can handle him?" Marc was still asking, coming to sit beside him.
Doug sighed, saying, "No one said you couldn't. We just know how stressful he is. I'm sure after he is done brushing, he is going to ask you to kiss him until he's no longer in the mood."
Marc gapped at him, "He wouldn't."
"Everyone knows about the bed." Ramus snickered. "Yeah. We know that after he got it he made the both of you sleep on until he wanted it all to himself."
"How did you...?"
"You guys argue like, almost every night and at the end, you end up on the bed with him." Doug and Ramus shrugged and focused back on their cartoon.
Marc took a moment to think and it all came to him. He gasped then ran a hand over his face in annoyance. "I should have known. I am getting too close to this kid. I'm going out to take a shower."
"How is that gonna stop anything?" Ramus asked but his eyes were still fixed on the TV.
"It isn't." He said standing up, "I just want to be away for a while." He entered the kitchen and in a minute he was out and sprinting into the woods.
Doug and Ramus watched him disappear as Dave appeared at the bottom of the stairs, whistling. He came and wrapped his arms around Doug's shoulder and whispered into his ears, "Does it smell better?"
The Architect was blessed with the enticing smell of mint and he exhaled. "All good."
Dave pulled away immediately and smiled, "Great. Now where did Marc go? I need my morning kisses."
