"I HATE YOU." Adhvik yelled.
"That's what you were supposed to do from the very beginning! We shouldn't have fallen in love in the first place." Brinda said and left.
▪︎▪︎▪︎...
I was going downstairs for the haldi ceremony when i heard her parents' voice.
"Briii!" "Bri! Open the damn door, or I'll break your legs!" I heard her mother.
"Don't be so mean, Shreya! She might have changed her mind to get married. That's amazing!" Her father said, and i frowned. Her dad hates me.
I went towards her room and saw her parents standing outside and knocking the door.
"What happened, mumma?" I asked her mother.
"Brinda is not opening the door. She is saying she doesn't like colors and so she won't be a part of the haldi ceremony!" Her mother said, sighing in frustration.
"Mumma, i don't even play holi! It's not like you didn't know that I'd throw tantrums about haldi!" I heard orange's voice from the other side of the door.
"If you don't want to get married, it's fine, bri! Don't worry about your mother!" Her father said, earning a glare from her mother while i just rolled my eyes.
"Orange open the door, it's not like you never played holi!" I said, knocking on the door.
"I'll open this door tomorrow only!" She said sternly.
"What the hell is orange! And yeah, she has never played holi! She creates a huge fuss if someone applies color to her!" Her father said.
"Papa, it's not true she has pla....." I was about to finish the sentence when the door opened with a jerk.
"I am coming in 2 minutes." Orange said, chuckling nervously and stomping my feet intentionally.
Ouch.
"What was he saying?" Mumma asked, raising an eyebrow.
"He was not saying anything right, Adhu..vik!" Orange said, giving me a death glare.
"Fine, whatever i want you downstairs in five minutes!" Mumma said, smacking her forehead.
"Shreya! Don't hit her." Her father said, and they both left arguing with each other. Hey! Take me with you, or your daughter will kill me!
"What were you about to say?" She asked, glaring at me.
"No... nothing." I said, gulping nervously.
"I dare you tell anyone that i had played holi with you, I'll kill you!" She said, slamming the door on my face.
She's scary sometimes, but seriously, if i accidentally finished that sentence, she'd have actually killed me!
. . .
I was covered in haldi from head to toe thanks to my siblings and friends. I decided to leave for my room when i spotted orange beside the pool. She was just sitting beside the pool covered in haldi, her chin resting on her palms and staring at water doing absolutely nothing.
