Adhvik's pov
I took a deep breath as i entered inside the Mittal villa. I don't know how she is going to react. Will she talk to me?
"What are you doing here?" I heard Sambhav as soon as i stepped inside.
Shit!
"Uh.... I am here to... pick Naina." I lied."For?" He asked, raising an eyebrow.
"What are you doing here, Adhvik?" Naina asked, coming downstairs. Thank god or her husband would have punched me by now.
"I am here to pick to for work." I lied, and she gave me a death glare. Of course, she has taken an off today, and she always comes to work on her own!
"Bhai Riddhi is eating too much ice cream. She'll get sick, but when i denied her, she said she's doctor and didn't need advice from an 'outdated business magazine'."
I heard her voice after 22 long months. Soon, my gaze found her, and everything else disappeared. She looks even more pretty, breathtaking, to be precise. I felt peace after so long.
The chaos inside my heart, which always made me restless, seemed to comfort me. My mind still couldn't register the sight of her. It felt like a dream, a beautiful one, and i don't want to wake up because the reality is too messed up.
The void inside my heart seems to be filled with her presence. Her presence felt like water in a dry desert, shade of tree under the blazing sun. Her existence completes me. It gives me a reason to breathe.
"Can you believe it! She called me outdated business......." Her words halted as soon as her eyes met mine.
I feel like i am finally breathing again.
She froze for a moment but quickly averted her gaze, looking everywhere but me."I... I am in my room." She said to her brother and was about to leave when i called her.
I know i gave you immense pain, but i promise i won't ever hurt you now. I'd rather die than hurting you.
"Brinda." She stopped and looked back at me. Her name felt foreign to my tongue. She's Orange.
"Yeah, Mr. Rathore?" She said, looking at me blankly.
I don't know what hurt me more.
The indifference in her tone.
Or
Her calling me Mr. Rathore, which i asked her to."Can... uh... can we talk?" I asked hesitantly while her brother was glaring at me. If looks could kill, I'd be six feet under by now.
"What is it?" She asked, uninterested. I know you are mad, and it's my fault.
"Alone?" I said with all my strength. Honestly, i was expecting a punch from her brother but realized that Naina had held his hand tightly. I mentally thanked her for this.
"Uhh... okay." Orange said, sighing.
"I am here only. Call me if you need anything." Her brother said, glaring at me and patting her hair, and she nodded.
We both came outside in the garden, and there was just silence for a few minutes. I was still taking in her presence. She is standing right in front of me.
1 year.
9 months.
25 days.It was a very long time.
I wanted to hug her. Hold her close to my heart, but i lost the right to do so and all i could do was just look at her, admire her.
"What do you want to talk about, Mr. Rathore?" She asked in a professional tone.
"How are you?" I asked softly. I don't think she'll even reply to me.
