Kestrel was hugging his mother before he finally let go.

Kestrel: How... I- we thought you were dead.

Summer: Well. After I went to try and kill Salem- (She gets interrupted by Kestrel saying)

Kestrel: You were trying to kill that woman?

Summer: (With her only eye wide open in surprise she says) Kestrel... How do you know that woman? Did Ozpin recruit you into his inner circle!?

Cross: Uhh no. (Summer looked at him) Actually, the grimm lady tried to fuck him to get 'strong offspring'.

Summer: (Looking shocked at both Cross then Kestrel, then Cross again and so on) What!?

The other children looked at Summer. Which she turned at them saying.

Summer: Sorry~!

The children continued being little ignorant shits as Summer turned to Kestrel asking.

Summer: How did you end up in that situation?

Kestrel: Emm. I was on a mission to get a master key to access this entire facility so I can destroy the Hivemind. But seeing that it wasn't lying... I'm not gonna do that. Anyways, at one point an anomaly broke loose from the facility and killed everyone but me. It took me into a shadowy place and said "Break the cycle" and saved me from possible death. I was in an induced coma for a week.

Summer: Well. Before I make any questions about recent events. What happened after my supposed death?

Kestrel: ...After we received a notice of your death a month after you went to that mission. Me, alongside Yang and Ruby went to look after mom; Raven. Yang said she found a lead to a cabin. I wanted to tell dad but...

Summer: Yang refused, right?

Kestrel: Yeah. (He said in a soft voice) We went there anyway. Ruby was sleeping in a wagon while Yang was the one bringing her along. I walked alongside her.

Summer: Reminds me of the times where you always stuck close to Yang. Still having the arguments of being younger than her for a year?

Kestrel: ...I refuse to elaborate.

Cross: Sometimes he is.

Kestrel: Fuck- (Interrupted by Summer who whacks his head saying)

Summer: No swearing. Back to the point. What happened after you found our old Cabin?

Kestrel: "Our old cabin"?- I'm getting off topic. When we reached it we found that it was broken and old. We were preparing to leave until Beowulf arrived.

Summer: What- what happened next? (She said, afraid that her daughters were harmed)

Kestrel: An anomaly. Some kind of portal appeared and sucked the beowulf in. However it wasn't just the beowulf that it sucked in...

Summer: Kestrel?

Kestrel: After the beowulf was sucked in. I was being dragged into the portal. At one point, Yang was trying to help me... Then mom appeared. (Summer kept paying attention to him) She tried to get me out of the portal's range but... I was sucked in seconds after that.

Summer: (Hugging Kestrel) Where were you then?

Kestrel: For years... Many many years. I was away. In another world, I was taken in by an organization that at the beginning I thought they were good guys fighting bad guys so I joined them. Now? I don't even know if they are the good guys or just... Neutral. I was turned into an assassin. A super soldier. Their fucking volunteered lab rat.
