Book: Broken Play
Author: Alison Rhymes

Broken Play presents a rollercoaster of emotions, challenging readers with its tumultuous journey. Initially, I found myself wanting to quit just 50 pages in due to frustrations with the protagonist's apparent lack of backbone. However, the narrative gradually took a turn, albeit not a drastic one, which intrigued me enough to keep going. While there are still aspects of the book that I dislike, this gradual shift was a welcome surprise.

Drew and June McKenna, the main characters, may seem foolish at times, but the entrance of Noah Anders, a guardian angel-like figure, breathes new life into the story. Despite not being the focal point, Noah's compelling personality overshadows the protagonists, making him the standout character. His presence elevates the book from average to above average, captivating readers with each appearance.

Broken Play delves into themes of sports romance, intertwined with heavy doses of mental issues, marital crises, betrayal, and infidelity. While the handling of these subjects may not be entirely satisfactory, the writing remains compelling throughout. Noah Anders, in particular, ensures that readers remain engaged until the very end.

- Genre: Sports Romance / Psychological Fiction
- Favorite Part: The captivating presence of Noah Anders, whose character overshadows the protagonists and elevates the narrative with each appearance.
