1.4 Study Howl Flirt

Start from the beginning

"Your sister, her name's Wednesday isn't it?" Xavier asked.

Amaris looked at him surprised, "Yeah, how did you know?" she asked confused.

"You don't remember me do you?" Xavier chuckled, Amaris shook her head, "Last time we met, I was about two feet shorter, 40 pounds heavier," He tried to jog her memory.

"What happened?" Amaris asked as a vague memory came up.

Xavier exhaled slightly and shrugged, "Puberty, I guess," he suggested as he scuffed his shoes against the cement as they walked slower.

Amaris giggled, "No, what happened the last time we met?" she asked before she squinted down at his feet, "Also stop scuffing your shoes."

Xavier chuckled and walked normally, "Sorry, but yeah, it... it was my godmother's funeral," he recited, "She was friends with your grandmother, and they spent their twenties in Europe, swindling the rich and notorious.," he chuckled, "The three of us were ten, and we were bored and decided to play hide and seek, I had the inspiring idea to hide in her casket," Xavier sighed, "I got stuck as it was headed to the crematorium."

Finally, the memory came back to her, "I'd heard muffled screams," She smiled, "Wednesday thought your godmother had cheated death and was trying to claw her way out."

Xavier laughed heartily, "Either way, you hit the big red stop button and saved me from being flame-broiled."

"Why did you think that hiding in a casket was a smart idea?" Amaris asked.

Xavier shrugged, "I don't know," he stated, "It seemed like a good idea at the time!"

They continued walking, talking about their lives and how they grew up. There was a sense of peace and serenity in their conversation as they grew closer to being friends, as Xavier pushed open the library doors, he gestured for Amaris to enter first, "Ladies first," he smirked. Amaris smiled and walked passed him, she felt his gaze following her as she walked inside, and she couldn't help but feel a sense of excitement bubbling inside her.

Amaris was unsure where to sit, there weren't many students in the library but it also wasn't the quietest, she felt Xavier take hold of her hand and gently lead her towards the back of the library, it was much quieter than the rest of the library. Xavier pulled her seat out for her and pushed her back in like a gentleman before taking a seat next to her.

Amaris shifted in her seat, pretending to be engrossed in her textbook as Xavier leaned in closer, his voice low and teasing. She could feel the warmth of his breath on her cheek, sending shivers down her spine.

"So, Amaris, what do you want to study?" Xavier asked, a playful smirk tugging at the corner of his lips.

Amaris felt her heart flutter at his proximity, her cheeks flushing slightly as she tried to maintain her composure. "Um, I don't know," she stammered, her gaze flickering nervously from her book to Xavier's piercing eyes.

Xavier chuckled softly, his eyes twinkling with amusement, "Well, we have an exam coming up in English...I could help you study... if you want," he offered, his voice dripping with charm.

Amaris's breath caught in her throat at the suggestion, her mind racing with all sorts of thoughts. She bit her lip nervously, feeling a rush of excitement at the prospect of spending more time with him. "Sure, that would be great," she replied, her voice barely above a whisper. As Xavier leaned in even closer, Amaris couldn't help but feel a flutter in her chest, this isn't how she imagined their study session to go.

Xavier smiled seeing the anticipation and nervousness in her eyes, he leaned back in his chair, a mischievous glint in his eyes. An hour had passed and Xavier sat watching as Amaris's brow furrowed in concentration over his notes, she was switching her gaze from his note book to her own as she copied it diligently. With a playful grin, he reached out and gently tapped her notebook, drawing her attention away from her studies.
