Maks
The princess is just full of surprises lately. She didn't know about Caine and Maeve's little secret and they obviously weren't keen on telling her anytime soon due to her fragile state.
I watch in amusement as she yells at them in front of the entire restaurant and then makes a dramatic exit, twirl of her dress and all.
"I'll go talk to her," Simon grumbles, giving Leo a dirty look as he follows Nadia's trail.
"You and I need to have a word," Caine growls at Leo. Leo doesn't look the least bit fazed, he's still tearing into his lasagna as if he hadn't just ruined dinner.
"It's okay." Maeve says, laying a hand on Caine's arm. "She was going to find out eventually." I watch in annoyance as he relaxes with her touch, his eyes softening as he looks at her. He was still the same boss but it seemed his jagged edges had been smoothed down some since he and Maeve had made it official.
I glance up to find Simon reappearing not a moment later, a look of dread on his face. "She's not out there," he says.
"What do you mean she's not out there?" Caine demands.
"She's not out on the street." Simon rubs a worried hand down his face.
"We have to find her." Maeve claws her nails into Caine's arm. He gently removes her hands and makes to stand.
"She couldn't have gotten far. We'll split up," he suggests.
"I'll go check to see if she went home," Simon says, darting back across the restaurant towards the entrance.
"Maeve and I will check the Zagorodnyy Klub Zelenoy Yeli. Her and her mother frequent there a lot." Caine drapes Maeve's coat over her shoulders. "As for you two idiots, split up," Caine snaps, whacking Leo on the back of the head with his napkin.
"Ow!" Leo yelps, dropping his fork and getting pasta sauce all over the white tablecloth.
"One take Zaryadye Park and the other the Beyala Roza." He orders, not even bothering to hear our responses before he and Maeve depart.
"I'm taking the Belaya Roza," Leo stands and grabs the last bread stick from the basket, shoving half of it into his mouth.
"Hell no. You're taking the park," I growl.
"You hate the Beyala Roza," Leo complains.
"I also hate the park and it's more ground to cover. You're the reason we're in this mess to begin with. You can't learn to keep your big mouth shut." Plus, I knew that the Belaya Roza was the last place the princess would be at and I didn't want to chance being the one to locate her.
"Fine," Leo says begrudgingly.

My head is already pounding from the sound of the thrumming beat of the music coming from inside the club. I shove past the line of people who are waiting to gain entry. They turn to yell at me but their anger quickly fizzles out as soon as they lay eyes on me.
The bouncer lets me in without question and I am hit with stifling air and the overwhelming scent of sweat and alcohol. I'm not even going to bother looking for the princess. She probably ran home like the child she is and locked herself up in her tower.
I make my way over to the bar and order my usual, whiskey neat and survey the crowded dance floor. My plan was to stay long enough for Caine to call and say they located her and then I could go home and squeeze a workout in before bed.
My eyes lazily scan the crowd. I nearly choke on my drink when my eyes land on a dark haired woman swaying her hips along to the sensual beat of the music.
