PERCY'S POV
After Artemis had left, I unfolded my wings and flew out of Olympus, to where she said to meet her. I smirked to myself as I knew that she was thinking that I will probably be there in about 5 hours but my wings carried me a lot faster, maybe even faster than Hermes, and I got there in less than 2 hours. Artemis was saying stuff to her hunters about me and I saw Thalia. I crept up to the nearest bush and hid there.
ARTEMIS' POV
When I had teleported to where the hunters, me, and eventually Perseus were staying, I told them that we were about to have a new Guardian of the Hunt.
Phoebe said, "Ooh, a new girl as our guardian."
The rest of the girls looked really happy and were smiling.
Not knowing how to break it up to them, I said, "Hunters, it is not a girl, but a boy."
The hunters, except Thalia, all shouted, "What? No! We do not need any MALE to protect us. We have done just fine for the last 4000 years. What was Zeus thinking? Stupid males. Who is he anyway? Who does HE think he is?"
Thalia then shouted, "Stop! I know it is annoying and we don't need any males in the hunt, but if (Thalia started smirking and grinning) we want to, we can always annoy him and play pranks on him, right? It will also make being a hunter much more fun and that way, it will all be fine."
I smiled. The hunters all like this idea.
Thalia asked, "Who is he anyway?"
PERCY'S POV
Thalia asked, "Who is he anyway?"
At this, I walked out of my hiding place and said a single word, me.
Thalia asked the question again.
I said, in mock hurt, "Why, don't you recognise me, Thals?"
Percy?
I grinned.
PERSEUS JACKSON! WHERE WERE YOU? DIDN'T YOU KNOW THAT NICO AND ME WERE WORRIED?
THALIA'S POV
I couldn't believe my eyes. It was Percy. I was so annoyed with him right now, me and Nico were so worried about him and I missed him so much. I hadn't seen him for so long. Neither had Nico. Nico had said that Sally and Paul had been murdered and I knew that he would probably be really sad about that, so I had asked milady for permission and gone to Camp Half-Blood, to his cabin, but he wasn't there. I had met Annabeth on the way out and I had asked where he was. She had said, "Oh, him?" He is a traitor. We broke up because he kissed another girl. When she had said this I didn't believe it because, one, he is too loyal and two, I have known Annabeth for my whole life, and I knew when she was lying. Her words sort of come out in disbelief and her eyes scrunch up, as if reminding herself not to spill it out. I didn't question it but I had been so confused on why Annabeth was saying this.
After thinking all of this, which really wasn't that long, I lunged at Percy and shocked him with my lightning powers. Then, I launched my next attack, an arrow streaked towards Percy. But he easily deflected it with a water shield, droplets evaporated in the heat. Percy retaliated, sending a surge of water at me. I leaped, somersaulted, and land gracefully, avoiding the deluge. My lightning crackled. He sidestepped, narrowly escaping the electric blast. Percy countered with a tidal wave, crashing toward me. I leaped onto a nearby pine tree (ironic, considering my past transformation) and rode the crest like a surfer. My spear clashed with Riptide. Sparks flew as we grappled, each pushing the other back.
Percy grinned. "You want some, Pinecone Face?
I smirked . "Bring it on, Seaweed Brain."
We continued like this, for a while, each deflecting the other's blow.
