bastard

zaenya hummed with a nod of her head taking a book from his shelf "did you know i killed a man with a book once?" she held the thick book to the man "difficult but effective i must say" her eyes gazed over the cover before flipping through the pages

otto sucked in a sharp breathe clenching his jaw "is that suppose to frighten me?" he glared

the woman snorted shutting the book "sit down otto, i won't kill you" she threw the book aside looking to him seeing the man still rooted on his spot "just here to talk ...business" she shrugged lifting her hands as a sign of surrender

otto kept his glare thinking for a moment before he finally moved his legs to his desk and slowly sat on his chair never leaving his gaze from zaenya "had you come to your senses about what side to fight for?"

zaenya smiled "i don't give a fuck about this stupid war" she neared the man flipping the coin "what i do care about is someone that became very special to me, that i'd do anything and everthing for even if it means taking their life for causing harm on her" she rounded the table until she was nearly close to the man before leaning against the table

otto shifted uncomfortably, his hand subtly reaching for the hidden dagger under his desk "do i perhaps know her than?" he had to keep her distracted before striking and calling the guards

the woman hummed once more "your daughter ofcourse, beautiful woman who managed to lock me down unlike any other woman before her, the very daughter you poisoned with your lies"

at the mention, otto paused awaiting the woman's next words "i told myself that i'd do whatever that woman wanted with just a blink of her eyes, and i did" zaenya chuckled "killed that larys lad m'cause he made her uncomfortable, listened to her every word and fell along with it just so she could be free from torment ...yet you, her biggest torment is still breathing"

"my daughter would never betray me" he nearly hissed not believing her words, his daughter would never want him dead

zaenya rose her brow looking at him "haven't you heard the saying 'love makes you do crazy things'?" she grinned liking the way his face feel and realization washed over him "i lied before—i am here to kill you, then i'll win rhaenyra this stupid war knocking down everything you've worked for, take your daughter away from all of this so she can know what peace and contentment is like" she listed off spitefully

"oh completely slipped my mind, she'll actually raise our child how she always wanted without you whispering lies in her ear" she added on casually

that alone made ottos eyes widen in rage, in shock, many emotions swirled withing those eyes as he couldn't fathom the words zaenya was saying

alicent pregnant? with zaenya's child

the thought process made otto settle on rage as his teeth gritted taking the dagger from beneath his desk swinging it in the direction of zaenya's chest

yet his wrist was caught in a tight grip, the dagger turned to his direction with such speed ottos mind hadn't registered that the dagger was now plunged deep in his chest

struggled breaths ans coughs was heard throughout the room as ottos widened eyes looked to zaenya, his hands gripping at her hands wrapped around the dagger. zaenya smiled pressing the dagger deeper than it was "i'm glad my face is the last thing you'll see before you die, you old fuckin' cunt" sneered the woman twisting the blade

bits of blood sprayed on zaenya's face but she ignored it taking in the sight of otto struggling to stay alive, with a few more coughs and whistled breaths—otto hightower had meet with death knocking on his door ready to take his soul to where death deemed it worthy

zaenya hoped it was the pits of hell

and as the life slipped from ottos eyes, zaenya smiled with satisfaction removing herself from the deceased body and placed a note on his desk before leaving the room as if she was never there

far from what occured, alicent sat patiently on her bed as she listened to the instruction of zaenya. she waited and waited until–

ring

ring

there, the bell rang twice

the deed had been done

alicent couldn't help but feel a relief lifting from her as she breathed out waiting for a moment until she had some chaos outside her doors. throwing the covers from her body and slipping on a robe, she quickly made her way to the door unlocking it and was meet with guards running to the direction of the tower of the hand

"what happened?" alicent put on a faux concerned face pulling a guard to a pause, the man panted "something happened with the lord hand" he quickly rushed out before rushing to the scene

following their haste steps, alicent saw a small crowd outside her fathers quarters and the yelling of aegon withing the room "make way!" said a guard as he led the brunette inside the room

her brown eyes first met her son raging about holding a letter before she moved to a body—her father's body that had a dagger sticking out his chest, blood oozing out his mouth and widened lifeless eyes

"send every damned guard to find him and bring him to me now!" yelled aegon

alicent snapped from her daze turning to aegon "...who did this?" the king said nothing and just handed his mother the letter

the rogue prince sends his regards

was all it said, she recognized the handwriting and had to hide her surprise "he planned an assassination" aegon said

nows the time alicent

dropping the note to the ground, alicent covered her mouth letting the tears slip from her eyes "how could he!" cried the woman

sympathetic looks were thrown to alicent as the woman cried, the brunette's handmaidens quickly rushed in taking alicent in their comfort hold so no one would see her cry anymore—and as they gently led her back to her room leaving the woman be to grief the lost of her father

alicent sat on her bed wiping her tears, a laugh couldn't help but escape her lips so that's what alicent did, she laughed and laughed until fresh tears pricked at her eyes. the relief she felt was unreal almost she couldn't help laugh at how good it felt

"oh goodness me" alicent chuckled holding her hand to her heart, she loves zaenya even more than she had for doing this, for freeing her from the hold her father kept her in for all her life

she could make her own choices now, what alicent always wanted
