BEYONCÉ'S P.O.V

"I love you, too! Happy Mother's Day, again!" I shouted down the phone to my mom.

Obviously, it's Mother's Day today. Unfortunately, having work tomorrow means that I'm unable to go and visit her. I was actually unaware of it being today, as living away from my family meant that I didn't have a reminder. Therefore, I only managed to call my mom now, in the afternoon.

Jay has been acting strange all day. He hasn't been speaking to me, and he's just been doing his own thing. I don't want to pry, so I've been giving him the space he needs.

I soon heard a knock on my bedroom door. After allowing the person to enter, I saw Jay's head peek through.

"Hey." I greeted.

"Hi." he bluntly responded. "I'm going to the club, I'll see you later." he said.

"Wait!" I shouted as he turned to leave, "Do you want me to come?" I asked, letting him know that I was worried about him.

"I'd rather be on my own." he replied.

"You seem vulnerable, it isn't good to isolate yourself." I told him.

"Fine, let's go." he replied, not having the energy to argue.

I scanned around the club, just getting a feel of the area. It wasn't too busy because it hasn't yet reached the evening.

"Aye, big man! Her eyes ain't down there." I suddenly heard Jay shout. I shot my head over to him and saw him sternly looking ahead. I followed his eyes, which took me to the man he had been speaking to before.

I stood uncomfortably in front of him as he continued to stare at my body.

"Yo, what did I just fucking say?" Jay intervened. He took a step forward and slid in between the man and I.

"Jay, it's fine." I said, placing a hand on his back.

"There ain't nothing wrong with looking. Man, you're the biggest pimp out there!"

"This ain't about me, this is about you disrespecting the woman behind me." Jay spat.

"All I did was look at her, since when did that count as disrespect?"

"You didn't just "look at her", you fucking lusted after her. She was clearly uncomfortable with you doing it, but you still carried on. If you're horny, and looking for an easy girl to fuck, I suggest you move on because that ain't happening here." Jay argued.

"Man, why the hell are you getting all defensive over her? I used to look up to you, but you're acting like a damn pussy right now!"

"At least he knows when to leave a woman alone!" I heckled, now moving beside Jay and looking at the man. Usually, I would've remained in the background, but this was more my fight than Jay's, so there was no reason for him to suddenly be targeted.

"Shit, you've even got yourself a lil sidekick here, Jay." he said with a chuckle, "Listen here, bitch, I ain't scare-"

"That's it!" Jay abruptly shouted. The next thing I know, he had lifted his arm and formed a fist. I knew exactly what he was about to do, so I quickly grabbed his jacket and pulled him back.

"Jay, don't do it!" I warned.

"Why shouldn't I?!"

"What's the point?! He wants a reaction from you, don't give him one!" I shouted. He composed himself and relaxed his fist.

"Are you her rag doll or something? If you wanna punch me, fucking do it! You can't let a stupid ass woman boss you around." he said.

Jay was about to turn back to him, but I grabbed his face with both of my hands and made him look at me.
