"Darwin, I need you to take the lock down off and get Kate back to the city and grab what you've got of the time machine. I need you both here in less than a half hour." I say into my ear piece.
"So, the plan worked?" His voice comes through.
"It overworked." I say. I hear the alarms go off and realize that Darwin never left the Core. I smile before following Cisco into the particle accelerator chamber, or at least I think that's what it is. It's a lot bigger than I thought it would be.
"This way to the lower storage room." Cisco goes down a ladder. I follow him and come to the bottom. It's a strange little room in the floor. I can hear steam coming from somewhere in the room, which is dimly lit.
"What was this used for?" I ask.
"Nothing, well until Fake Wells/ Eobard Thawne took his great great, or whatever, grandfather down here. Then we decided to use it as a storage unit." Cisco sighs as he leads me to the back of the room.
"What happened to 'his great great, or whatever, grandfather'?" I look at the parts on the floor. Many of them match the diagrams and instruction Harrison/Eobard gave me.
"He....He shot himself, to ensure Eobard was never born." He whispers. I look at him. I wonder what it was like to learn the man you've been working for is pretty much a villain trying to kill your friend.
I guess maybe I don't have to wonder, maybe, if I wanted to know, I could have.
"This whole thing, all the time stuff and Harrison, Eobard, choosing me and all of that it seems weird. I mean how did this all happen?" I kneel down to a box full of cables.
"Barry tried to go back in time, to save his mom. He didn't, he came back and Eobard was suppose to go back to his time but Barry stopped him. The Reverse Flash tried to kill Barry, so Eddie, Eobard's grandfather plus some greats, killed himself. The wormhole collapsed making a black hole which caused the black hole in the middle of Central City." Cisco explains as he starts moving some parts around. "Then you came about."
I frown. 'Then I came about.'
"Well, maybe..." I lose my words. "Maybe I can change it all."
Cisco looks up at me for a long time. His eyes don't have fear or disgust but, confusion.
"You know for a villain, you sure are pretty nice." He shakes his head and returns to work. I smile and let out a breath.
"I never wanted to be a villain, but I couldn't be a hero." I smile sadly at the ground. Cisco looks up.
"Why not?"
I let out another breath.
"I got my training from those people in Starling City, I did some bad things, overseas and here in this country. I saw things that made me lose faith in my heroes and they did tests...." Suddenly I stop and remember the tests.
"Tests?" Cisco asks. My mouth opens and I see myself in a chair. I snap my attention back to Cisco.
"Oh my god, they ran tests on me. That was the last thing I did, it was a...a test...transportation test. I was always up for tests because I knew if a test went right you got discharged and some of your memories erased. The test worked." I begin pacing excitedly. "They placed me in this chair that was in this tube like structure. They made me go somewhere but they couldn't tell where I went and they couldn't control where I went. I remember when it worked, it worked differently than it should have...something went wrong and I went to...."
I stop and let my excitement fall back. Cisco looks at me with big eyes. I look at him sadly.
"I went to the future....and I can't remember it." I pull up a bucket that's upside down and sit on it. Cisco looks at me. He then perks up after a couple seconds.
