Sonic: Tides of Chaos

Sonic

"Knock knock!" A bright cheerful tone rose from behind the door as it swung open revealing a pink hedgehog dressed in her usual knee length red dress. "Hi friends!"
"Amy!!" Sonic jumped to his feet. "Bring in the haul! I heard there was a big sale at the new mall! Did ya get any of those cookie cakes or Jamba Juice?"

Amy stumbled inside, her arms full of bags dangling from her shoulders to her wrists. "There were so many super cute clothes for such a great price!" She dropped them on the floor. "Food wasn't exactly on sale Sonic. But I did bring back something for everyone!"
"You did?" Tails peered through the kitchen, his hand covered with an oven mitt as he brought out small sausages wrapped in biscuits. "But you girls are the only one of us who wear clothes." 

The room went quiet as everyone looked back and forth at each other.
"Well not any more!" Amy snatched a bag from the floor digging through it and pulled out a shirt placing it over Sonic's chest. "Because you all have to look nice for the cruise I just booked for us!"

Sonic looked down at the shirt, a standard white shirt with tropical colored leafs in no particular pattern. "I'm sorry, a cruise? Me? On a boat? In the OCEAN?"
"Oh come on Sonic it isn't that bad." Amy brought out a shirt matching Sonic's in Tails' size.
"Remember the last time I was on a boat? I tried to run on water all the way back to land! I couldn't sit still! It was so boring!" Sonic protested, tossing the shirt aside.
Amy began unpacking the other clothes and luggage. "I remember" she practically sang, "That was a long time ago. And you've grown up since then, haven't you?" Her green eyes looking over her shoulder at him.
He paused looking down at himself and back at Amy, "Yes. I have."
"I'm sure a big, mature, man like you can handle a few days out at sea. This isn't just some old boat with a kid and his grandpa. It's got games, music, and shows."

Tails watched Sonic spiral into an internal battle of pride vs fear. A slow smile came over him as he heard Sonic answer, pride refusing to lose.
"Yeah! I mean of course I can handle it. I've learned how to kick back and relax. It'll be a well earned vacation!" Sonic answered though his true dislike for water and being unable to run on a good stretch of land shook his voice just slightly.

Tails pat his shoulder, "That's the spirit."
"Yeah" Sonic looked at him in horror that he wasn't going to help him out of it, "heh.. heh.. what have I done?"
