Alexandra's POV

I donated about 500 ml of my blood two weeks ago and the day after, I was discharged, where I went home and took a shower just to come back to the hospital right after.

My brothers went back to their daily routine but made sure to visit whenever they can, whereas mom and dad comes every afternoon.

Cassie and Edward are here just as much as I am, they leave Caden with their neighbour since I don't think Caden knows the condition his brother is in.

Nolan and Seb skip the lessons after lunch just to come visit and keep me company. I've been staying in the uncomfortable chair in Everett's room, right next to his bed and I can't seem to let go of his hand as I talk to him, as if he's still here and listening to me talk like he always does.

Seb and Nolan both fell asleep on the small sofa placed in one corner of the hospital room and I don't blame them, I doubt they've been getting much sleep with school and staying here until visiting hours are over.

Cassie and Edward had to be home at night with Caden so I offered to stay here every single night, only leaving the room for food because I know Everett will be upset if he finds out that I haven't been eating properly.

My heart breaks every single time I look at him. His pretty face was pale and had little cuts on them, his face was relaxed compared to his usual scowl— or his soft smile that he said he has that's only reserved for me.

His head was wrapped in a bandage and I can see the patch of blood on one side of his head whereas the other one was on the back of his head.

I believe that he'll wake up soon and I want to be here when he wakes up which is why I can't leave his side.

Pulling the thin blanket more over his body, I gently caressed his cheekbone, my touch so light as if I was afraid I would hurt him.

"You idiot. Why would you do that." I mumbled, recalling how instead of protecting himself, he cradled my head close to his chest as soon as that stupid truck hit us.

The drunk driver was immediately taken away by the police, it didn't take any evidence seeing as our car was literally wrecked and the driver of the truck was passed out in front of the steering wheel with empty bottles of alcohol in the back seat.

Sighing, I sat back down and clutched his hand, before my eyes moved to the small table placed next to his bed, landing on his phone and everything that belonged to him that was in the car.

Once my eyes landed on the back of his phone, I swear my eyes teared up when I saw a few pieces of paper on his phone case.

I vaguely remember doodling something when I had first gotten detention with the boys, I thought I had thrown it away but seeing that doodle on his phone case, proved me wrong.

Another paper was one of the notes I wrote for him when I was at his house for the first time after Seb's birthday. The note was so silly but seeing it on Everett's phone case told me how much he valued the little things.

Cheer up, pretty boy. Don't be so grumpy all the time, happiness suits you. Alexandra <3

That was what I had written on the note. That was the exact paper that I had scribbled on when he was taking too long in the bathroom.

I clutched his hand tighter when I picked his phone up and stared at his wallpaper, a single tear leaving my eye when I saw the picture of us together.

It was a picture of us. Both of us looking each other with so much adoration. I had a huge smile on my face that was inches away from Everett's. Even Everett was smiling, his eyes crinkling at the corners and his cheeks tinged red. The smile on his face would make me fall for him all over again.
