I raided their fridge and cabinets looking for some kind of breakfast. Pancakes would be perfect right now. Unfortunately, I couldn't find any ingredients to make pancakes. I did, however, find eggs and bacon, and figured that would be fine. I popped some bread in the toaster and started cooking.
By the time I was done preparing enough breakfast for Michael and I, my phone rang. "Hello?" I answered.
"Oh thank god, you're alright!" Allie's voice sounded through my phone.
"Too early for your yelling Allie. Could you like, lower your volume," I said into the phone. I may not have been Michael level drunk last night, but I was still pretty high up on the wasted scale.
"I'm sorry, it's just you weren't replying to my texts last night and when I got home you weren't there so I thought-" she continued to ramble.
"Well don't worry, I'm okay. The boys invited me out last night and I just had a few too many drinks," I explained.
"Where are you?" she suddenly questioned.
"Right, yeah, um I'm at their house," I replied, already knowing where this conversation would lead.
"Huh, okay, and who exactly are you with?" Allie's accusing tone ran through the phone. I could imagine her crossing her arms and tapping her foot like a mother who had just caught her kids playing with a ball inside the house after she told them countless time that they weren't allowed to.
Before I could answer, a new voice spoke up. A very loud, obnoxious voice. "Baaaaaaabe, come back to bed."
"Ella, you didn't. Did you?" Allie said and I don't know how but I swear I could hear the smug look on her face.
"Michael, not now," I begged.
Apparently, that was enough for Allie to get the wrong idea, "Ella, you did!"
"Wait, no! I can explain!" I exclaimed, trying desperately to stop her from jumping to false conclusions.
"Yeah, damn right you will. I want full coverage once you get home. See you in a bit, babe," she mocked me and then hung up.
I turned to Michael, annoyed. He knew it was Allie. He totally set me up. I was ready to yell at Michael until I caught sight of him. There he stood, leaning against the kitchen doorframe with his arms crossed, hair messy, looking absolutely gorgeous. And shirtless. I'm guessing at some point after waking up, he had taken his shirt off because it reeked of alcohol from last night.
I opened my mouth but as soon as I caught sight of him, all thoughts left my mind.
"You made breakfast," he smiled, walking over to where I was standing. Michael casually placed his arms around my waist as if it was the most natural position for us to be talking.
"Yes, I did and I was planning on sharing with you before you went and made Allie think we slept together," I grumbled at him, leaning back and crossing my arms.
"But we did sleep together," Michael said, an innocent smile on his lips.
"That's not the kind of 'sleep together' Allie is thinking of," I retorted.
"Babe, I don't get it, so what if she thinks we did the magic dance with no pants?" he leaned back trying to look at my face.
"First of all, I am never using the word sex again, so thank you. Second, because we never did the magic dance with no pants," I explained before asking, "And lastly, what's with calling me babe all of a sudden?"
"I just feel like it," he grinned. "Well then, I am sorry or the false addition to your dance partner list," Michael's dramatic apology caused a small laugh to bubble out of me even when I was trying so hard to be angry with him. He leaned forward placing a kiss on my forehead. Remember that gymnast doing flips in my stomach last night? She just landed a perfect ten.
"Michael, I told you, I can't," I tried to pull away but he held me in place. No matter how many flips the gymnast did, no matter how many fireworks I felt, no matter how lost I get in his beautiful, beautiful eyes, I can't. I just can't.
"Ellie," Michael whispered, his eyes full of sadness and empty of the joy they held only moments ago.
"Can't what?" a new voice spoke up making us jump apart from each other like the other had just caught on fire. "Well, don't you too look comfortable," Ashton said with a smirk.
Not wanting to explain, I turned around grabbing the plates of food I had cooked earlier. "Who's hungry?" I asked with a nervous laugh.
"Can I say it? I'm gonna say. B, you're not wearing pants," Calum stated to everyone as they gathered in the kitchen.
"Thanks for reminding me, Cal. Really, thank you," sarcasm dripping off my words.
"So does any body wanna explain why we came home to Michael and B, barely dressed, hugging in our kitchen?" Ashton asked.
Michael and I looked at each other before replying, "Nope, not really."
"How about I make some more bacon, we eat, and we'll explain later, yeah?" I suggested wanting more than anything for them to agree to my distraction.
Before I started the bacon and eggs, I quickly texted Allie it was a code red emergency and I needed to get out of there as soon as possible. The boys all sat and began eating, which I was more than thankful for. Michael however, kept his eyes on me.
"What about you guys? Are you just getting in?" I asked the three boys, trying to keep the conversation going and away from what they just walked into.
Luke went on to explain how Craig forgot they were in the van and ended up taking them to his place where they spent the night. Right before they could ask why I had stayed, Allie texted, saving me once again. I gotta get that girl a fruit basket or something to say thanks. Maybe a chocolate basket would do.
As soon as her name flashed on my phone screen, I dropped what I was doing and ran into Michael's room to put my clothes and shoes on and grab my bag."Sorry guys, Allie's here. I really gotta go," I ignored their curious stares and rushed out the door.
I could see Allie pulling up into the driveway. Suddenly, I felt a hand wrap around my arm. It was Michael. He had followed me and we were now standing outside his front door.
"Michael, I have to go but please don't tell them anything. Not until we figure it out first," I tried to pull away.
He pulled me closer, before saying, "I know, I know. I just wanted to give you something."
"What?" I questioned, curiosity consuming me.
"This," Michael stated before pulling my face towards his and giving me a kiss, making the gymnast flip worthy of a gold medal. "Bye Ellie. See you around, babe," he smirked when he pulled away.
As I made my way towards Allie, one word came to mind. Fireworks.
What!! What!! Oh my god, what is happening?? I have no clue!! Hope you liked it!
