"Come on, it's late and you're tired. You shouldn't be driving," Michael convinced me.
And for the second time that night, I did something without knowing why. I agreed.
"I know there's a guest bedroom, but I think you should stay in here with me tonight," Michael said as I got up to take my shoes and jacket off. "You know, because we shouldn't have to be lonely when we have each other." A mischievous grin stretched across his face.
"Alright, sure," I was too tired to argue with him. "Hey Michael, do me a favor and don't take this the wrong way, okay?" I said as I untied my over sized shirt, letting it fall to about mid thigh, and started taking my jeans off.
"Wait, what? Wow, I can't believe that wor-," Michael stopped mid sentence when he caught a glimpse of me getting undressed.
"I don't know how you do it, but I can't sleep with jeans on. It's the absolute worst," I explained as I got into bed with him.
Once we were both comfortable, a peaceful silence fell across the room. Of course, Michael had to ruin it. "Don't get mad but I'm probably taking it the wrong way," he told me as he reached out and pulled me to his side.
I let out a sigh trying to sound annoyed, but the fact that no blanket could compare to the warmth I felt when he wrapped his arms around me made it sound like a sigh of contentment. I glanced at Michael, only to find that he was already looking at me.
"What?" I asked.
"Nothing, it's just, you're really pretty," he replied.
"Michael, it's dark. You can't even see me," I said.
"Don't have to," he simply stated.
The sensation of someone doing flips in my stomach stopped me from replying.
"I was serious, Ellie. About how I said I wanna get to know you," Michael continued. "For more than just one night."
The flips in my stomach turned into a full gymnastics routine that would put gymnasts training for the Olympics to shame.
"Go to sleep Michael, I'm tired," I nuzzled into his shoulder.
"We have to talk about it sometime," Michael pointed out.
"I know, just not tonight okay?" I rasped, sleep starting coming to me.
"Alright, fine. Goodnight Ellie," Michael agreed. His words barely making it to my ears.
"Night Mikey," I managed to whisper.
"What are you doing to me?" Michael's faint voice echoed in the dark room. It was the last thing I caught before finally drifting into one of the best sleeps I've ever had.

The next morning, I woke up before Michael. His white comforter wrapped around us protecting us from the morning breeze that settled throughout the house. Confusion was the first thing I felt. Suddenly I remembered what happened last night. From going to the bar with the boys and their friends to Michael getting wasted to me taking him home to his drunk confrontation about me liking Ashton to me kissing him- oh god. I kissed Michael. And he kissed me back. My head started hurting from all the thinking not to mention my killer hangover.
I got out of bed slowly, trying my best not to wake Michael. With how much he had to drink last night, the guy probably needed more sleep before the torture that is a hangover would begin. I made my way to the kitchen, noticing how quiet it was. Checking the time, it was just a little past 11am. None of the other boys were home.
