THEY HAD LANDED IN THE MORNING AND ALICE had taken a car from the parking lot without paying for it but she didn't care as they sped towards Volterra

Athena felt sick. She could physically feel her stomach churn as she just waited for him to confirm everything she already knew

Bella's hand reached onto the dashboard as Alice's driving became quicker on the quiet roads

"I'm guessing you didn't rent this car?" Bella questioned

"I figured you wouldn't be against grand theft auto"

"Not today" Alice nodded as her eyes glazed over, the steering shaking as Alice tried to keep it straight whilst concentrating on what she was seeing

"What? What do you see?" Bella said leaning forwsrd to Alice once she blinked out of her vision

"They refused them"

"So..."

"It's one of my favourite Shakespeare plays" Athena smiled as she looked from the tv that sat in front of the class before turning to Edward

For their English literature lesson the teacher had put on Romeo and Juliet, a forbidden romance

"The are a lot of tradgedies. Look at Romeo. Killed his true love our of sheer stupidity. But I do envy him one thing" Athena felt his hand clasp hers, her small one becoming encased in his as he softly ran him thumb over the back of her hand
"The suicide. It's nearly impossible for some.. people" he let off a teasing, quiet laugh
"For humans, a little poison, a dagger to the heart. There's so many different options"

"Good" she whispered
"I'm glad you don't have them options, but why?"

"Cause I had to consider it once. I didn't know if I'd get to you in time. I had to come up with some type of plan"

"What was the plan?" Athena felt her heart shatter, she never wanted Edward to be in a position where he felt he had nothing left. He still had his family without her

"I'd go to italy and provoke the Volturi"

"No.. that's. That's a terrible idea"

"Lucky you're here then"

"So they're going to make a scene. Show themselves to the humans" Athena whispered as she put her head in her hands
"He spoke about it before. This can't be happening"
