Chapter 4

WHEN SHE FINALLY FINISHED COVERING UP the bruise in the bathroom she went back outside, seeing Jessica glaring at Bella who didn't seem like she cared about what Jessica thought

"What the hell were you thinking?" Athena furrowed her eyebrows as she walked over to the pair. It looked like they hadn't moved from where she left them but Athena also saw the mess of Bella's hair which could not have been from the wind since there hasn't been any

"What happened?" She asked them both and when Jessica saw her she let a giant sigh of relief out

"Your adrenaline junkie sister! That's what happened!- she jumped on a random guys bike and rode of with him!" When Athena glanced to Bella almost shocked she seemed partially upset but almost relieved too

"I saw him" she whispered almost inaudibly but Jessica didn't pick it up

"Bella, let's get home" Athena said carefully to her and she nodded in return, Bella not realising the bruise she had pointed out was no longer there

"IT'S SO GOOD SEEING YOU AGAIN" EMILY SMILED as she put a batch of cookies on the table. All the boys were as welcoming as ever which Athena didn't doubt but she also didn't want to have to lie to them

But she missed them a lot. It was hard not seeing them as often as she wanted

"Hopefully we'll see you some more?" Paul hinted and Athena timidly shrugged her shoulders. She did want to see them more, she missed them at it always made her feel terrible when she would decline their invites to hang out, but they never once stopped asking her

"I mean, Max just got a new job in Seattle. He'll be working Saturdays, Sundays and Mondays so I'll have more time" they all beamed with smiles on their faces and Athena sent them a small one back

"Athena, we spoke with Harry a long time ago" Sam spoke up and the table went quiet again. It seemed they all knew what Sam was about to say
"We never really understood the type of bond that you and Edward had you know?" Athena didn't know what to say so she stayed silent. She never liked bringing up Edward anymore, not since the day he left cause it hurt everytime she thought about it
"But he explained it all. And we get it. You have like a permanent pain in your chest right..?" They all watched as she slowly nodded, her gaze moving onto the table and away from each of them
"And your appetites gone, as well as your energy levels? We didn't know Thea" Sam's face was sympathetic but Athena shook her head not wanting anyone to feel bad
