I race back to the stables and see Lexi on the ground, crying and screaming in pain. Mel rushes to her side.
"Buttercup ran off after I fell." she sobs. I trot off to find Buttercup I didn't see him on the trail, so he's not there.
He might be at the lake. I canter to the lake and find him there, drinking water. He has a nasty cut on his leg, but he's okay.
I lead him back to the barn, just on time to see Lexi being loaded up into an ambulance. She looks relived to see Buttercup.
I put him in his stall, while Mel untacks Dakota for me. I put some ointment on his cut, and head back to help with Dakota.
"Will, she be alright?" I ask. Mel shrugs.
"We think she broke her arm, but other than that, she'll be okay."
I put Dakota in his stall. Mel and I go home. Riley (my dog) starts to jump all over me. I laugh at her.
Our parents come in and asks if we're okay. They heard about one of the students getting injured. Apparently, Kayleen called, for some reason.
