A few days had passed on Asgard. You had not seen either brother wandering the castle. You had, in fact, not seen anyone. The only contact you had was with the servants who came to dress you and bring you meals throughout the day. You barely ate.
One night, you lay on your back in a high tower of the castle, watching the stars through an open window. The rush of wind through the window was summery and light. Your body felt heavy and sore, the complete opposite.
There was a certain way looking at the stars made you feel. You could not describe it well, but each new star that came out throughout the night made you feel a little less lonely. You were still tired though, and as you lay on the mosaic tile floor, you fell asleep.

How could she? A mere human? Be so indifferent towards her soulmates.
Loki had come to accept that she was his soulmate and not unlike him. Scared of herself, and scared of the world. Lonely but not knowing where home was. He had known that rejection was unavoidable. Who would want to be his soulmate after all? He was the worst of the worst, yet now he was forgiven for his many actions against Midgard and his brother. It felt wrong. But he was trying.
And in doing so, it had restored his hope that one day he would find her. But this was not how he expected it to happen.
He marched up the observatory stairs, cross with a servant who had been curious over his midnight wanderings. As he reached the spacious upper limit of the castle, he felt as if someone else might be there too.
He was right, of course, magic never lies to its user. For on that floor lay you, his soulmate. How he had longed to see you again.
His gaze traveled to your closed lids and obvious uncomfortableness on the cold tile floor set on your face with a frown. You lay in a light green dress this time, pearls and gold jewelry now adorning your ears and neck. It was almost too simple for a maiden living in the castle, personally invited to stay by the king himself after crash landing here from the Allfather knows where.
Loki had been oh-so-curious about you after all. He had made Thor tell him the story more than ten times since they had discovered everything. Thor was not as happy to be sharing as Loki was to even have someone.
In an effort to not invade your privacy, Loki perched on a cushioned chair across the room nearest the window. It was fashionable but old, brought up to the observatory for no clear reason except needing newer furniture in the lower levels where guests often meandered. He wondered if you cared how this room was so dusty and unkempt.
Loki watched your breathing, carefully in and out. He watched your eyelids flutter occasionally. He watched your hands twitch. It was endearing, to say the least.
As you awoke the next morning, to the dawn light cascading through the open windows of the upper towers in the castle, Loki disappeared into thin air. It was as if he was never there, yet you felt a sense of comfort having slept with his presence throughout the night. You may not have consciously registered it, yet your unconscious mind had.

A few days later he had found himself out by the stables with his brother. The royal horses were all the best breed and the fastest in Asgard. He and Thor used to race as children learning horseback but now it has become an activity that helped mend their relationship with one another after everything.
"Thor, what say you we race to the edge of the pastures today?" Loki asks with a smirk.
"Brother you know the pastures are very well never-ending," Thor explains. "We must turn back at some point or another."
"You're no fun, though I must get back soon to my avenging duties," Loki grinned as he strode beside his brother. They looked nothing alike, as y/n had mentioned previously, yet they seemed to get along as brothers should even after everything that had happened between them in their earlier centuries.
After mounting a horse, Loki heard the sound of a chattering rider. He peeked out from the stall to see you. You were on one of the smaller horses yet still quite a grand pick. It seemed as if you remembered how to ride or had ridden before. Your posture told him so. Loki thought you looked quite regal, fit to be his queen. He did not wish to disturb you, but he couldn't help himself after not seeing you forever.
All of a sudden, you whipped around. He hid behind the wall, afraid you would catch a glimpse of him and run off. His fears were justified when you promptly ended your conversation with the stable boy, whom Loki was quite jealous of but wouldn't admit. He was paying more attention to you anyway, after not having seen you for a few days.
He watched as you rode off heading towards the pond. And after you left he scolded himself for being a coward and hiding.
A sudden thought struck him. If you did not want him, he would go back to Earth. He had to help the Avengers anyway. Even if he missed you dearly. Soulmates would come to find each other in the end after all.
