"Good night, hun! I'll see you in the morning!" your father called from downstairs, plopping himself down on the couch and turning on the television.

"Night, dad!" you smiled, opening up the door to your bedroom.

And just as you stepped in, Zeke froze, as he was already halfway through the window.

"Surprise..."

Your eyes shot wide as you shushed him, quickly shutting your door as he rolled over and fell onto the ground, letting out a loud grunt.

"Honey? You okay?" your dad asked, concerned.

"Fine, dad! Tripped over a shoe!" you stormed over to Zeke as he stood up, nothing but smiles despite your furious expression.

"Hey, shortie," he grinned, eyes not leaving your face for a second.

You faltered for a moment, nearly caving under his gaze.

As your best friend, he knew exactly what to do and say to get himself out of trouble, and was not afraid to bring out the big guns.

Your favorite nickname.

"Don't hey, shortie me, Zeke. What did I tell you about coming through my window?" you scolded, raising a brow.

He sighed, plopping himself down on your bed, "Don't do it under any circumstance because the last time—" "The last time you broke your damn collarbone!"

"That wasn't my fault. Your dad was coming," he defended.

"And you decide to dive out the fuckin' window?!" you whisper-yelled, as incredulous as the day he did it, "Who does that?!"

"Anyone ever tell you how pretty you look when you're pissed?" he chimed, innocently.

"Don't start your shit, Z..." you warned.

"So hostile... especially when I came all the way here to check on you."

You rolled your eyes, "Check on what? I'm fine."

"I know you are but I just—" he stopped himself, his playful expression hesitating for a moment.

It worried you, "You just what?"

"I just got this really weird feeling when I was sitting in bed, y'know. Like something was wrong..." he shook his head, slightly laughing it off, "I dunno... just wanted to be sure you were all right."

"You're adorable," you cooed, tauntingly, as you walked over to your dresser, pulling out a pajama set, "Givin' me cavities."

"Hopefully your teeth fall out," he huffed, scooching back up the bed and resting his hands behind his head, "I won't have to hear your mouth anymore."
