Next day,
At evening, as you were hurrying to the library to finish an assignment, you saw Taehyung waiting for you at the entrance. His piercing gaze made your blood run cold.
"Hey, you!" he called out, his voice dripping with malicious intent.
"Y-yes, Sunbae?" you stammered, barely able to meet his gaze.
"I heard you've been talking behind my back," he snarled, his eyes narrowing with fury.
"N-no. I swear, I haven't said anything about you," you pleaded, desperately hoping he would believe you.
He smirked, clearly reveling in the power he held over you. "Well, I don't believe you. But how about this, if you do something for me, maybe I'll let it go."
Your heart sank further. What could he possibly want from you? Your mind raced with anxious thoughts.
"Name it," you whispered, your voice barely audible.
Taehyung leaned in, his hot breath grazing your ear. "I want you to write my research paper. And I want it done by tomorrow."
Your eyes widened in shock. It was beyond unfair. But the consequences of refusing him were unthinkable.
"I...I can't do that," you managed to say, your voice trembling.
His grip around your arm tightened, his anger mounting. "You think you have a choice? You either do this for me, or I'll make sure you regret ever stepping foot in this university."
Swallowing hard, you weighed your options. You desperately needed to stay in the university, even if it meant sacrificing your own values. Slowly, you nodded, resigning yourself to your fate.
Taehyung grinned triumphantly, releasing his grip on you. "Good. You have until tomorrow evening. Don't disappoint me."
As he walked away, leaving you with a heavy feeling in your chest, you couldn't help but feel trapped. What had your life come to? You had always dreamed of a bright future, but now it seemed like a distant illusion.
You walked into the library to start on Taehyung's research paper, your mind was already dreading the long hours ahead. Sighing, you found an empty seat and started gathering the books and materials related to the topic.
You were engrossed in your work when a voice interrupted your thoughts. "You look like a freshman." Turning around, I saw a guy looking at me curiously.
"You don't quite look like a second-year student. Are you working on this for someone else?"
You hesitated for a moment before replying, "Yes, I'm doing this for a friend. He's a bit... incapacitated at the moment." The guy offered you a smile and introduced himself as Jungkook, a second-year student majoring in the same subject.
He chuckled at the absurdity of the situation but surprised you by offering his assistance. "I can lend you a hand with the research if you'd like. Two heads are better than one, right?"
You stared at him in disbelief. Why would a stranger offer to assist you with a task that wasn't even yours to begin with? But then again, perhaps this was the universe's way of throwing you a lifeline in the midst of my predicament. You hesitated at first, but his friendly demeanor put you at ease.
As you both delved into the research together, Jungkook's expertise and insights were invaluable. His explanations were clear and concise, making complex concepts seem simple.
