Hello, my fellow Gladers, Shanks, and Cranks! Miss me?
I'm sure some of you might be surprised by this sudden new story or the fact that I'm back here again. It's been a rough last few years for this ol' Crank, but I'm proud to announce that I've got my Shank brain cranking again.
HOWEVER!
This will be different from how I wrote my other x reader stories. Let me explain before you comment and possibly leave.
There will be absolutely no physical descriptions! (meaning color of hair, eye, skin, blah blah blah) (However, will include things to indicate sickness or physical exhaustion, ex. Her cheeks were gaunt and her lips dry and cracked, dark crescents under her eyes with a blank stare as she gazed ahead of her.)
This is still meant for a female reader; sorry to all the dudes and they/thems out there I'll get one for you two at some point... hopefully.
And- I'm not using YN anymore. In case it wasn't obvious to some who read my other Newt works, I have had a change in writing.... platforms?? I'm no longer writing on my phone, I stopped back when I worked on A14, actually. Less spelling mistakes (so long as my computer actually catches them before I publish...) {Anyone read Their Cure? You might remember one of my comical spelling mistakes that I hadn't noticed until it was published... and I left it because it was funny.}
In this story, Bishop is the name/nickname that YN, aka you, the reader, goes by.
Now, someone is probably wondering why. Why Bishop?
Well, because it's a chess piece...
That's the reason that I'll give you for now... Truth be told, I came up with it because I was playing chess, and the idea came to me when I was holding the bishop. It's my favorite piece cause it goes diagonal.
As always, if you have a problem with 'Bishop,' you can imagine it something else or not read it. You'll miss out on a good story if you don't read it, though, I'm just saying. But please don't comment on a complaint about YN being called Bishop; I just think it looks better than YN, and it might have some point in the story later on.
Anyways! To those who were wanting/hoping this chapter was the first chapter, sorry to disappoint. The first chapter still has to be looked over by my editor before I publish it, editor is my friend but they're in a different time zone than me. When will it be out? This upcoming Friday! It might be the first two chapters, depending on how much writing I get done between work shifts.
If it comes earlier than that, that means my editor looked at it faster -(thomyhawk thank you my broski) - And I'll be working on the following chapters soon after!
And- little spoiler for you, Shanks, this starts/is set in the Fever Code before going into the Maze Runner. I will also be following the Books more than the movies! (To those who haven't read the Fever Code, I highly recommend it! It isn't necessary, but it will give you more context as to who certain characters are in this story and The Maze Runner.)
P.S, this -> 219. 08. 16 | 1200 is Year. Month. Day. | Hour - Little FYI in case you are confused in the chapters to follow!
Well, it has been a pleasure seeing you, Shanks, and any Greenies reading this (those who haven't read my other two Newt series). Welcome to the Crank Glade! You're going to love it here.
Sincerely,
Bagsy (Your Crank of an Author)
