A/n: Be sure to read the description for a little background info on Y/n
When Y/n was told that there was a house under her name, a place far away from this hellish life she'd been enduring for years. She didn't even think twice and left.
Now, as you stood before the old Japanese-styled house in your hometown, you began to rethink your choices.
Don't get me wrong, it was beautiful and well-built with running water and no bills to pay, but when was the last time you slept on a futon?
You unlock the front door and walk in after taking your shoes off. It was a bit dusty but nothing a good cleaning couldn't fix. You walk into your old bedroom and freeze.
Everything was the same. Same nightstand. Same dresser. Same closet. Same walls.
Well, except for the giant box in the middle of the room. You deadpan, your bag dropping from your shoulder. "How'd someone even get this through the door?"
You sigh and wipe your hand across the top, dust clinging to your fingertips. It's been here for a while, you think and prop it open. You blink in surprise at the bed inside, covered in plastic.
You blush softly, overcome by happiness. "Yes! A bed!" you exclaim, jumping to your feet. You pull your sleeves up, tie your hair back, and grab the necessary tools. "Time to clean!"

A dull ringing filled your ears, but the drowsiness didn't let you react. The ringing grew persistent, and your mind slowly began to clear. E/c eyes flutter open, and you lay in bed, the comfiness of the blanket and pillow stopping you from fully waking.
The ringing stopped, and you closed your eyes again, then what felt like mere seconds later. The ringing came back in full throttle, and your eyes snapped open. You flip over and lay on your stomach as your hand aimlessly moves towards the nightstand.
You close the alarm and glance at the time. "Hmm, 7:48," you mumble. You sit up in surprise and check it again. "I'm definitely gonna be late," you groan and quickly get ready.
First day at school, and you're already going to be late. You only pray that the teachers aren't as strict as the ones in your previous school.

Y/n blinks at the state of the class and turns towards the teacher with the most confused expression ever. He was sweating under your menacingly, questioning expression.
"O-okay, everyone, this is your new classmate," he says instead of answering, and you give him a look before turning back to the class. Only to have them staring at you like deer caught in headlights. "My name is Y/n L/n. It's...nice to meet you..all," you say, and bowed. You smile through your teeth as you stop yourself from saying something unnecessary.
"Please have a seat then," the teacher says. You freeze momentarily, not sure where exactly you could sit. No place looks sittable, you think, and then you notice a free seat next to a soft-looking little girl. You frown as you smile softly. I think she's the only one who can pull off this uniform, you think.
You took your seat and tried not to let all the eyes on you bother you. "Hey." You turn, and the girl beams softly. "My name's Mahoro Jin! It's nice to meet you~" she says, winking.
You blink at her antics and smile. "Nice to meet you too."
The teacher started the lesson, and you found it a bit hard to focus. No one other than Mahoro was actually working. It was a bit off-setting since you've never seen a class like this. The state of the room was one thing, and it shouldn't have been surprising that the students were like this.
Soon, it was lunchtime, and you were about to leave when one of the other girls draped an arm around your shoulders. "Hey, newbie," the girl drawled, smirking. "Why don't you let your big sis show you around?"
You pull away and chuckle softly. "Thanks for the offer but—"
"Don't be like that!" she interrupted, clapping you on the back. "Now come on, I'll tell you the ins and outs of this shithole," she says and drags you away as you frown in disdain.
"So, there are two gangs here at this joint," the girl began. "Minato Kai is run by some geezer that's been held back three times. Those guys are chivalrous," she says, making air quotes. "Then there's the Siguma Squad. Their leader is pretty strong, and that lot is downright bloodthirsty," she says after some thought. You give her a slightly fearful look like she expected. I don't think teenagers can be bloodthirsty, you think, trying to calm the sudden rush of nerves. She started to go on and on about how big and fight-hungry the lot was.
You weren't thrilled by the idea of there being gangs in this place, but you couldn't back down. Even though the thought of running into any of them made you white as a sheet. By the sounds of it, you doubt they were anything like the ones back at home.
"Aye! Siguma here!" A sudden high-pitched voice called around the corner you were about to turn on.
You jumped out of your skin, a strangled scream leaving your throat, and a loud smack sounded in the hall. Everyone froze as the girl stared from you to the guy you just punched and back.
"Holy...shit," she mumbled.
You slowly opened your eyes and noticed a guy with long, bright, green hair with black streaks turned away. A shadow over his eyes as he stood there.
The guy that was with him stepped in front of you, causing you to stumble back. "The hell?" he growled, hands in his pocket. "Why did you just punch the boss?" he asks, his voice low and deadly.
The girl that was with you backed away from the black-haired boy, and he grabbed her arm, stopping her from fleeing. "And where do you think you're going?"
"Let her go," you shot back, stepping forward. "She had nothing to do with it. I'm the one that punched him, not her," you add, a hand on your chest as you glare.
"Yeah, you did." You flinched, your resolve wavering as the green-haired guy stood tall behind you. Just from his voice, you could tell he was pissed. The other one let the girl go, and she ran off.
You slowly turn around and face the leader of Siguma. He had a shadow over his eyes as he stared down at you, eyes practically glowing, and you took note of the red mark on his cheek. Ah, geez. I'm so screwed, you think and quickly avert your eyes to the floor.
He leans over your cowering figure. "So, why'd you do it, hmm?" His voice was light, but you knew that he felt anything but that.
"I'm so sorry!" you exclaim and bow. "M-my hand just moved on its own," you add meekly.
You hear a scoff from behind you. "So, what are going to do with her, Marito?"
He thinks for a moment and grins as you slowly look up. "How about that bento?" he asks cheerily, tilting his head. Your hands grip the box as you frown.
Well, it's better than getting punched in return, you think meekly, and you hold it out.
Just as his hand reached for the box, it shot forward and grabbed your forearm instead, pulling you closer.
E/c eyes grow wide as you stare at his grinning expression. "Say~ I didn't know a girl could pack a punch like that?" he muses. He slowly opens his eyes, and they stare intensely into yours. "I really loved that punch of yours~"
Y/n froze under his gaze, shock, and confusion written all over your face. "H-huh?"
