Clay was absolutely heart broken. His cat, his best friend, has just died (well- had died three months ago but still. It's my guys best friend). His name was Smokey and he was such an amazing cat. He wasn't an outside cat, mainly because Clay lived in a small apartment complex. Smokey had gotten a terminal illness, and Clay just didn't have the money to help him. Which obviously made him feel like crap.
But now, it'd been 3 months since Smokey passed. And Clay thought that it was time he got another cat, and besides now he had the money to support the cat if anything were to happen. His online clothing store (for everyone) had become so popular that he was now significantly richer than he was before. But he still decides to live in his old apartment, because we love a humble king. And he doesn't need some big fancy house. And I he usually works from home so that's a bonus I guess.
Clay was walking to the pet shop where he had got Smokey all those years ago, hoping that he'd find another cat to take home. Just as he had done all those years ago. He knew that this time he had a cat, that it would be different, because now he had the financial stability (and all the same amount of love) to support the cat he would get for as long as he possibly could.
He chose to ride his bike down to the pet store, since he loved the feeling of the Florida air going straight into his partially damaged lungs, and the wind flowing through his golden brown hair. And even despite some of the road rage to bikers, Dream never actually found himself getting yelled at to move. Which was most likely due to the fact that he stayed on his correct part of the road and tried his best to not cause any issues.
(Bros having a Disney channel moment- I mean slay ig)
But.. when Dream finally reached the pet shop, he felt a sense of remorse..? He wasn't entirely sure what it was.. even still he couldn't help but feel like maybe he was making a mistake. He felt like his heart was beating rapidly, and urging him to go inside the pet store and find another cat to take care of. But his mind and his stomach told him otherwise. His mind immediately began its own process, its own process of fight or flight. His mind began to scramble and surge with thoughts of what could go wrong. In the meantime, his stomach made him feel like he was about to vomit up everything he had eaten.
At that point, he decided to just gut the feelings down and go into the pet store. He chained up his bike and walked into the shop, hearing the oh so familiar sound of the bell ringing as he pushed the door open. He looked around the shop, seeing that some minor changes had been made to the overall decor of the establishment, but it looked nice and wasn't even Dreams shop so he can't complain.
