I walked into work later that morning.

"What did you guys get up to last night." Jackson asked.

"Actually, I hooked up with this guy I met at the bar." I said, excited.

"Woowwww, really?" Nolan asked.

"Yep. He gave me his number, I'm gonna call him after shift."

"Tell us more when we have lunch." Jackson said.

We all walked into roll call, taking a seat at the very front, knowing that was where we were meant to sit.

Sergeant Grey gave a quick talk and we introduced ourselves. Then it was time to find out who our training officers were.

"Lopez, you get our legacy. Harper, the forty year old rookie. And Bradford, you get our hotshot." Grey announced.

I turned to get a look at my T.O.

My jaw dropped. It was Tim. I couldn't believe it. The moment he looked at me I saw his face harden.

I quickly turned back around, embarrassed.

...

After an awkward morning in the shop with Tim, I decided to just ask.

"So, are we just going to ignore what happened." I turned to him.

"I have no idea what you're talking about." His eyes didn't leave the road in front of him.

"Ok then."

I see how it is.

Later on, when we stopped at the food trucks for lunch I met up with Nolan and Jackson again.

We sat down at a table with our meals.

"What are your T.O.'s like?" Nolan asked.

"Lopez is alright, I'm getting mixed messages from her though. What about you guys?"

"Well, you know that guy I slept with last night?"

"Yeah"

"He's my training officer."

"What!"

"Yep, and he's acting like it never happened."

"Wow. What are the odds?" John said.

"I know, and there is clearly tension between us."

"Don't worry. I'm sure it will sort itself out." Jackson tried to reassure me.

"Yeah. Sure."
