ZARA

For a blissful moment, I forgot everything—the danger, the questions, the doubts. All of it faded away, leaving only Blaze's protective arms around me, his steady heartbeat beneath my palm.

I nestled against his chest, relishing the memories of what happened earlier: the feel of his rough hands exploring my body, the taste of his lips, the sound of my name in ecstasy.

Stubble grazed his sharp jawline, his fiery red hair tousled and falling across his forehead. His usual smug look was stripped away, leaving an endearing innocence I'd never glimpsed before. Unable to resist, I traced his cheek, smiling when he stirred at my touch.

His stunning green eyes blinked open. "Hey," he murmured, his voice husky and lips curling in a drowsy, heart-melting smile. His fingertips trailed down my spine in a feather-light caress that elicited shivers.

"Hey yourself, Fire Boy." I tilted my chin up for a kiss.

His warm breath fanned my face before his mouth covered mine. Excitement flooded my veins as his hands slid down to grip my waist, pulling me close. Any remaining sleepiness burned away, replaced by hungry flames wherever our bare skin touched.

I thought having him once would satisfy the desperate need inside me, but it only grew stronger, raging now with shocking intensity. If I had to guess from the stiff cock pressed against my belly, he felt the same.

Tangling my fingers in his hair, I straddled him and rolled my hips, swallowing his ragged groan. God, I wanted him again with every fibre of my being.

"I see I haven't exhausted that sassy attitude yet." His chuckle reverberated through me.

"Don't let it go to your head. I'm just getting warmed up," I purred, nipping at his sculpted chest.

I moved in for another kiss, but the chaos surrounding us gave me a pause. Scorch marks blackened the cabin walls in places, floorboards charred. Moisture dripped down the windows, puddling on the floor. The fireplace was a mess of scattered logs and ash.

The destruction caused by our out-of-control elements was undeniable evidence of our irresistible attraction.

Blaze took in the chaotic scene. "Well, that was..."

"Intense?"

"I was going to say hot...mind-blowing...but intense works too." He smirked, cocky as ever. "At this rate, I'm not sure if this cabin would survive a round two."

"Maybe we should take it easy on the place." I glanced around, using my magic to tidy up the messy aftermath as best I could. "I'd rather not end up buried under rubble."

"Well, we wouldn't want that. I prefer you in one piece, preferably wrapped around me." His eyes danced with mischief.

Our banter flowed effortlessly, the simmering attraction still humming between us. I knew we'd crossed a line, irreversibly changing our dynamics.

Probably, I should regret it, but I didn't. Being with Blaze had felt primal and right. As if we'd been two halves fusing into one. Wrapped in his embrace, his scent surrounding me, I felt at peace. Whole.

My fingertips absently traced the defined ridges of his abs while questions circled my mind. Where did we go from here? Was it a one-time fling for him? Or was there potential for more?

Before I could voice them, he tilted my head for a lingering kiss that left me breathless and aching for more.

"I don't know about you, but I could get used to waking up like this," he murmured.
