Both Vegeta and Goku could only watch in pure, unfettered horror as pink and green energy mixed. Black's energy melted into her very being, while Y/n's leaked into his own. Black slowly, painstakingly pulled the blade from the palm of her hand, the light nigh blinding. Grinning like a mad man, Black let out a yell as he ripped the blade free, the two holding up a large dual sided scythe made of their mixed ki. One end green, one end pink. Cracking down the middle, the two flowed in complete synchronization, Black wielding his on the right, Y/n on the left.

"Bear witness to our anger! This is true purpose! We are but the mere limbs of our emotions, only part of something greater! You have no place here. You will fall to our might," Black grinned through his bloodied face. This was it. This, this complete unison, being one with another, this is what he searched for. This was his resolve, his purpose. Though, he could not see that this was also what made him mortal.

Without warning, Black and Y/n shot forward, ki scythes swinging. Goku's eyes widened, narrowly dodging the green scythe that nearly cut clean through him. His eyes met Y/n's, her bright yellow eyes as her transformation lit up like a flame glowing. Goku huffed, swinging his leg as he knocked the scythe from her grip, watching it fling into the air. He attempted to punch Y/n, his fist getting caught in hers as she grabbed him by his wrist. Swinging him round and round, Y/n flung him away, catching her scythe as it fell back down.

Flying at Goku, Y/n dodged the ki blasts Goku threw at her, her eyes widening as Goku charged a kamehameha. Goku blasted the wave of ki directly at her, Y/n furrowing her brows as she flew right at it. The blade of her scythe sliced straight down the energy wave, Goku's eyes widening as he only caught sight of her just as her blade cut through his hands, cutting off his energy. Goku, without hesitation, grabbed the blade, his blood dripping down its edges as it sliced through his skin.

Grabbing the handle of the scythe, Goku inched closer to Y/n, Y/n panicking as she jerked against his iron grip. As her eyes landed on his own set, his eyes reflecting the anger within him, Y/n felt herself hesitate. What was she doing?

"Why did you do it?" Goku questioned, staring up into her eyes. His bright blue eyes were highlighted by the snow falling around them, making them seem ever colder. "Why did you betray me?"

"I-I, just..." Y/n looked down at her hands that shook as her grip on her scythe loosened. Why did she do it? What had been so wrong with her life before? Y/n tried to recall what had led to this moment, why she was fighting them. When her mind drew a blank, her eyes teared up. "I-I don't know. I'm only fighting now because Black and Zamasu are all I have left. I don't want to fight anymore..."

Goku looked up to her in surprise, feeling more lost and with questions than before. She didn't even know why she was fighting? Why she turned her back on everything? Her grip began to return as she pulled on her scythe, her tears fading as she glared down at Goku.

"This world is ours. We tried to help you, we offered to let the humans go, but you insisted on fighting. Don't say I betrayed you, when it was you who chose to have this fight," Y/n said. Goku grit his teeth, his blood beginning to boil as he grabbed the scythe handle, jerking her down to be mere inches from his face.

"I'm fighting you because I want to save you! I'm going to defeat you, and you're going to go back to your old life, no matter what!" Goku shouted, ripping the scythe free from her grip. Taking the blunt end of the scythe, Goku swung it into Y/n's side, sending her flying into a building. Goku huffed as he gripped the scythe tightly, ignoring the burning of Y/n's energy in his palm.

Y/n coughed as she stood up, standing in the remnants of an old building. Her eyes landed on the scythe in Goku's hands, making her growl in frustration. That was hers. Black had shared his power with her, and gave her something to defeat those Saiyans with. Y/n wouldn't let Goku's words get to her. This was her world, her home. She would never go back.
