5 years later

It was five years. Five years since Dhruv and Lavanya's marriage. Life in Shantivan had taken a huge turn since then. There were moments of happiness interspersed with grief. Dadi had passed away after 1 year of Dhruv's marriage, that left the family mourning. Arnav was the one affected the most, but Khushi left no stone unturned to help him out of his sorrow. Slowly, but eventually, Arnav accepted the loss of his grandmother and healed by reminiscing the beautiful memories they had together.

6 months later, Shantivan again saw light with news of Khushi being pregnant and joy echoed through the walls. In addition to it, Anjali and Shyam too adopted a baby girl, who brought immense happiness in the family. Anjali was at peace knowing that Shyam would not feel the void of children when she leaves him in despair. She believed, the child would help him mourn her loss, and not dive into depression again.

Kiara, the first child of Raizada household, daughter of Shyam and Anjali, was a sweet, innocent 2 year old when she was adopted, who had soon become the apple of everyone's eye. Khushi gave birth to her son, Aarav, who grew up to be very naughty in the household, an exact opposite to Kiara. If there was mischief reported in any corner of the mansion, then there was no doubt that Aarav was involved in it. Arnav had the toughest time handling his kid until he had gotten used to his ways. But sometimes, Arnav's anger that had subsided to an extent with Khushi's presence in his life, resurfaced with his son's shenanigans. However, at the end of the day, Arnav was proud and happy to be bestowed with such a loving family.

Following Khushi, Naina had given birth to a baby boy, Rehaan, who became Aarav's best friend in no time, just like their parents. Life was a bliss.

But in between these huge clouds of happiness, resided a single cloud of gloom, that spread across their lives. Anjali and Shyam had shifted back to India as Anjali desired to spend more time with her family, rather than undergoing the treatments that proved to be futile in due course. Anjali's condition was definitely worsening, and everyone could do nothing but stand helpless. Their hearts bled whenever they saw her suffering. But gradually they started accepting it too. Shyam had desired to open an NGO that helped everyone like Anjali to overcome their difficulties in dealing with such diseases, and had been working on it.

Madhumati and Garima now shared a better bond among each other, as well as with the Raizadas. Since Subhadra Raizada passed away, the younger clan looked upto Madhumati for any guidance they required in their lives. Garima too showered her love on both Khushi and Lavanya, equally, and had become Aarav's favourite Nani. Garima's parents too had forgiven Garima and made occasional visits to Delhi. So yes! Life was bitter at times. But there was an overpowering sweetness that made them overcome the bitter moments with ease!

Present day, Shantivan

'Aarav! I swear! If you continue to throw your tantrums, then I am not taking you to the picnic tomorrow', Khushi shouted, already tired by her son's naughtiness.

'Maa', Aarav whined, his mouth forming a pout.

'Stop that right there!' Khushi warned, definitely knowing that her son's pout would melt her. 'I am not going to budge. You have to wear this kurta!'

'But I like suits. Just like Papa', Aarav said slowly.

'Aarav! You are Mumma's boy. Aren't you?' Now it was Khushi's turn to blackmail.

'Aarav will wear whatever he is comfortable in'. The mother and the kid heard Arnav standing at the threshold of the room, his eyes softening at the sight in front of him.
