Alexandra's POV
The next morning, I woke up to the feeling of someone playing with my hair and once I realised that it was Everett, the events from last night poured down on me as I wrapped my arms around him tighter.
I don't care if it came out as clingy, all I wanted to do was keep him wrapped up in my arms and never let go, just so he knows that he's not alone.
We have each other now and I hope he knows to share his pain with me, I made that known last night.
My behaviour earned a chuckle from Everett while he moved his body to his side, moving me along with him as I nuzzled my face deeper into his chest, "Relax, I'm not going anywhere."
"How are you feeling?" I whispered from his chest.
Everett hummed with his chin placed on top of my head while he slipped his hands under my shirt, again.
It seemed as if he enjoyed touching me just as much as I did him.
A giggle left my lips when he stroked my bare back, slightly tickling me.
"Better whenever you're here."
A sigh of contentment left me as I breathed in his calming scent, a small smile present on my lips at the feeling of being in his arms.
It brings me so much joy and happiness, I just hope he feels the same.
"I'm sorry for last night." he suddenly mumbled and a frown took over my face because of the way he's making it seem like it's his fault for something that's completely out of his control.
I wish he knew how everyone has something that makes them vulnerable. But through everything, I realised how it doesn't make you any less stronger. This— everything that's happened to the both of us is something so traumatising but it brings us closer and I love how we both are open to each other about things now.
It was as if a huge weight was lifted off my shoulders when I sat down and told them everything, I hope Everett felt the same last night even though I'm not the best when it comes to situations like that.
"Don't say sorry for that, Everett. I'm happy that I got to be here for you."
We stayed in the same position for another thirty minutes, just wrapped up in each others arms while I listened to his steady heartbeat and he played with the strands of my hair, before deciding that it was time to get up since it was already way past the afternoon.
I didn't want to move from this position, I felt so at peace and safe here, but I knew that we'd be here for the whole day if we didn't get up.
As soon as I brushed my teeth, I sat on Everett's bed while I waited for him to freshen up and while I waited, I made sure to reply to the texts mom had sent.
She seemed worried for both Everett and I and I love how she liked Everett, I wanted her to like him.
'Be there for him, sweetie. I know how much he needs you.'
My heart warmed at her words and a gentle smile was on my face at her understanding.
'I love you, mom <3'
I switched my phone off when I heard the bathroom door open, the smile still present on my lips, only for it to drop when I see Everett walk out of the bathroom with only a towel wrapped around his lower half— a very shirtless Everett making an appearance.
My eyes widened and cheeks turned the darkest shade of red at the sight of his body— his gorgeous tattooed body that made my whole body heat up.
His abs looked even better than how it felt and I couldn't take my eyes off of his bulging muscles— god how much more beautiful can this guy get?
