So why I've decided to write this book and what can you find here exactly?
Let's start with a little bit of background...
(I'll keep this short, promise!)Five years ago, I penned my first book, Affinity. It was my first step into the world of storytelling, and like a toddler learning to walk, I stumbled more than a few times. Then came The Kingdom of Riptide Reign, which was an improvement, but still far from perfect. Life happened, as it often does, and my writing journey was temporarily halted.
But the call of storytelling, much like the call of the wild, is hard to ignore for long. And so, here I am, back to the world of words and whimsy! ✨
What changed?
▷ Starting my bookstagram account a year ago.
Storytelling has always been in my blood, my refuge in times of chaos. But with Bookstagram, my love for reading, writing, and supporting authors took on a new dimension.
▷ Wattpad, in particular, has been a treasure trove of gems – books that were almost publishing-ready, and authors, some of whom I still keep in touch with, who have since been published either independently or traditionally.
Wattpad was and still is my Diagon Alley, a magical place where I discover hidden gems but what makes it all worth it is the community.
▷ The incredible people passionate about storytelling I meet every day.Analyzing stories and books, understanding WHY some narratives resonate while others don't, has become a passion of mine. I've learned that great stories share common elements, and while you can't copy the magic that each unique author brings to their work, you can certainly learn to incorporate these elements into your own writing.
You see, each one of us has our own magic, our own unique voice. Our task as writers is not to replicate someone else's magic but to unlock our own. Words are powerful tools. They can influence people, change mindsets, and transport readers to different worlds.
• What makes a story compelling?
• Why do some books make our hearts race while others barely raise our pulse? These questions are like the Infinity Stones of storytelling, each one holding a piece of the power that can shape narratives and captivate readers.
If you're reading this, there's likely a story within you, waiting to be told. Maybe you're unsure of where to start, or perhaps you're an experienced writer looking to hone your skills further. Or maybe you're simply a reader curious about the art of storytelling. Whatever your reason, I'm glad you're here.
I'm not perfect. My writing isn't perfect. But I am someone who loves stories, who is passionate about writing, and who is committed to continuous learning and improvement. I believe in the power of community and the exchange of ideas. So if you have something to add, a question to ask, or even if you just want to say hi, feel free to do so.
So, grab your quills, inkpots, and parchment (or, you know, your laptop), and let's dive into this adventure together!
