"Playdate! Playdate! Playdate! Kya!!! We have a playdate!" Nanako squealed as she hopped like an overexcited bunny all around the place. Ecstatic with the setup of play dates with the other neighboring children.
Suguru smiled as he watched Nanako's bright eyes and smiling face, suddenly overlap with her teary-eyed fear-filled face making the man harden his muscles on reflex - he felt like punching something, someone every time the children's fear-stricken expression from memory resurfaced. To calm his nerves, Suguru reached out for Mimiko who was slightly smiling beside him with his pants clutched in her hand and her stuffed toy held by the other. Contrary to her sister, she reacted rather calmly to the news but her brightened eyes were enough to tell him how equally happy she was.
"How about we go shopping for new clothes, toys, and food to bring to the playdate, yes??" Suguru give an equally big smile as he crouched down to the level of the children - maybe a preparation with tasks in hand would calm them down, hopefully.
However, the light that added to the brightened eyes of the children told him otherwise. And as he expected the moment he saw that glint in their eyes, the two kids did spend the entire shopping with their energies on max and dead asleep on the way back. Suguru had a hard time feeding them dinner, changing their clothes, brushing their teeths and washing their face - the only easy part is sending them to bed in which they easily obeyed, that's how drained they are.
Children are not the only concern he had in life. After sending the children to sleep, Suguru immediately proceeded to the kitchen, prepared the foods to be cooked tomorrow for the play date, went to the room to pack all necessities needed to be brought, before going back to the children's room after doing a quick clean up of the apartment to check out if they are still sleeping deeply.
Watching the children sleep with smiles on their faces brought calm and warmth to Suguru's heart, telling him how much of an accomplishment that is. Though it didn't took long for a frown to be formed in his forehead - he seemed to have forgotten something. He only spent 5 minutes thinking whatever it could be before shrugging it off his head and went to sleep after washing up.
(Satoru: I'm supposed to meet the children but you weren't replying ಥ‿ಥ)
Suguru woke up with a frown after having his sleep disturbed by an annoying bright light, only for him to fully wake up and realized he forgot to close the curtains, hence the free passageway of the sunlight. Having no one to blame but himself, Suguru grunted as he hesitantly parted ways with his beloved most fluffiest and comfortable bed, pillows, and comforter oh what a pain it is to leave them-
SMACK!
Suguru decided to smack the laziness out of his being as he reminded himself over and over again how important today is for the children as it is their first time having a play date like a freaking mantra. 30 minutes later, Suguru finally moved away from the properly fixed bed, heading to the kitchen, he was surprised to see the two children awake and is sitting in the living room watching television.
"Why did you two woke up so early? and what time?" Suguru approached the two kids with identical bird nest head, making him laugh a little. Caressing both of their cheeks and relishing the softness, Suguru asked.
"We'sho exshytid" Nanako answered leaning further into Suguru's touch.
"Shix ow sheven" Mimiko hummed am barely audible answer as she too leaned to his touch.
Suguru was naturally speechless with their abnormal behavior this morning, here he thought excitement could prevent people from sleeping only takes place at night, never had he thought it could also affect people in the morning.
