Jaden's POV
December is a magical time of the year. Snow falls and covers the earth in blankets of beautiful white crystals, people smile and laugh as they're filled with holiday spirit, and of course—Then comes Christmas.
My favorite day of the year, and has been ever since I was a child. I love the festivities and activities. I love doing charity work, and giving gifts, baking Christmas cookies and celebrating with my family and friends—
Well... When I had a family and friends at least.
Unfortunately, life tends to change a lot. Sometimes for the better, but often times for the worse.
I thought that I had the unconditional love of my peers for years. However, I soon found out that their love did have bounds... I specifically found out when I decided to come out to them on Christmas Day last year.
I'd been hiding my sexuality for years until I finally decided that maybe, just maybe, I should try living for myself for once.
So on Christmas Day, I made the announcement in front of all of my family and friends...
And outrage ensued.
Yelling, arguing, finger pointing, blaming—I even got hit a few times. In the end, I was kicked out of both the house and the family.
You'd think that such an experience would have dulled the shine of the holiday season for me a bit... But it didn't.
