"Hello?"

"Hello, doll."

"We can't.. Can we? Can we talk?"

"Yes. This is a disposable. Go home first and I'll call you back."

Laurel nods and hangs up.
The clicking of the heels' speed increases extremely.

Home. A unlocking of the door. And then a locking.
The house phone rings. A different number.

"Baby, I miss you. Sometimes I think if I should turn myself i-"

A broken voice, on the verge of tears.

"No! Never! They're never going to find you. I don't even know where you are but it's going to be OK, it'll all be fine. And we'll be together, isn't that what you want instead?"

"Yes. I want us to be together. We're going to move.. First, once we're finished talking, I need you to throw away the house phone. Crush it until a million pieces and dispose of it."

Laurel nodded.

"Zeda, I love you."

"I love you too, princess. We're going to be heading to Australia. And then to England."

A warm smile was shared over the devices.

"Alright. I'll pack."

"I have the tickets. I can't wait to see you!"

"I can't wait to see you either!"

Quiet whispering.

"Goodbye."

A sing-song voice.
A disconnecting of lines.

Laurel grabbed a hammer and aggressively broke the phone; smashed it until you couldn't even guess what the contraption originally was.
