*durgh!

The loud sound of thunder being able to wake Jia up as she woke up to a dark room.
"Why is my room dark. I remembered sleeping with the lamp on." She talks to herself as she rushes to her nightstand to turn her lamp back on, but no matter how many times she turned on the switch, it just wouldn't turn on.

She then tries to search for her phone in the darkness. When feeling her phone, she immediately takes it and turned on the flashlight. Getting up from her bed and made her way to where the light switch was. Turning it on, only for the room to still stay dark.

"Don't tell me that the powers off." She whines and stares out the window.
"Curse you rain for making the power turn off!!" She curses at the rain before sighing.
Jia didnt feel like sleeping anymore, she didn't want to sleep in the dark. Alone. All by herself. She could sleep if there was some sort of light, since she had a fear of the dark. But she just couldn't bring herself to man up and head back to sleep. She needed someone to be by her side right now. And the only one that she could go to right now was Yangyang.

Oh she hated herself so much for getting out of her room and going over to his because she let her fear of the dark get to her. It was like her legs had full control of itself and whether she liked it or not, they were heading straight to where Yangyang was at.

*knock knock

Two knocks and no answer. Maybe he was fast asleep. Should she interrupt his sleep? But that would be too mean. But she was really scared right now. What if he doesn't want her to stay in his room and tells her to go away? He wouldn't do that would he?

Jia then reluctantly opens his bedroom door. Seeing as it wasn't locked, she made her way inside.
The girl being able to see Yangyang peacefully sleeping in bed, as it made her feel guilty for having to wake him up.

"Yangyang." Jia whispers as she softly shook his arm. Waking him up from his sleep as he slowly opens his eyes.
"Jia? What are you doing here." He asks before letting out a long yawn.
"The power turned off... and I'm scared. I don't want to be alone right now." She tells him. Waiting for a reply back from him as she stood by the bed uncomfortably.

He shifted backwards and opens his blanket. Sending her a signal that she should get into bed next to him.

"You can sleep here if you want too. Until the rain stops and the power turns back on." He says tiredly. Patting the empty space besides him.
She hesitantly got into bed as she lays besides him. Yangyang covering her body up with the blanket before facing her.

"I didn't know that you were scared of the dark." He spoke softly. Trying to make some small talk between them to ease the tension.
"I was once left home alone when I was younger and the power was off." She begins to speak. Playing with the hem of his sleeves as she tells him the origins to why she's afraid of the dark.
"It was so dark, and someone broke into our house. I was so scared, I hid so the burglar couldn't see me. I don't know, it was like the most terrifying thing to experience at five, and the possibility that anything could happen in the dark and you aren't able to see what's happening scares me." She says.
"I used to be afraid of the dark too but I learnt to overcome it." He tells her as he pulls her into his embrace. Placing his chin of top of her head as Jia stiffens.

She was able to feel the warmth of his body and how his heartbeat beats at the same exact rhythm as hers.

"How'd you overcome it?" Jia asks as she tries to soften up in his embrace.
"My friends would bring me to a haunted house every Halloween. They did that to scare me, Renjun, and Taro since we don't really like horror, but I guess I should thank them for dragging me to such a place because I'm not scared of the dark anymore." He says as she couldn't help but to let out a giggle. Yangyang being able to feel the vibration of her laugh.
"We should go to a haunted house together. I love horror." She suggested as it manages to bring a frown on his face.
"That sounds like an absolutely horrible idea. I'm not going to anymore haunted houses." He responded as she shook his hands.
"Come on, it'll be fun!"
"It wouldn't be fun because you're afraid of the dark darling. You wouldn't know what types of monsters are inside there." He states.
