CHAPTER 42: A Stranger's Advice

Start from the beginning

Though it was healing, it hurt.

I took a deep breath of air before exhaling. Then at the sound of the landline ringing, I sat on the bed and answered the phone. "Hello, it's Tia Frederick speaking."

"Hi, Princess."

"Logan," I say, softly.

"Please, listen to me." He said, his voice sincere. When I didn't answer him, he started talking. "I know it's hard to believe but Ian – he's dangerous. About several months ago, I was in the locker room after P.E. class and I overheard Jason and a friend of his talking about someone."

"Who?" I ask, interrupting him.

"You."

I cringe and shiver. "K-Keep talking."

As Logan started explaining the matter, I felt uneasiness inside.

"Tia, it was Ian's plan."

"You're wrong, it must be someone else Logan." I bite, unsurely.

At the moment, I didn't if I was convincing Logan or myself.

Ian's a good person, right?

"Answer me one question Tia, How'd he know about the kidnap when none of us told him about the situation in the first place?"

At the roaring sound of a thunderclap, I flinch. "L-Logan, I need to go for a walk." Without a second word, I end our conversation. "I need to think, I need to think." Once I wore a black cardigan, I left the room before walking downstairs. As I near the front door, I twist the knob and open the door. Stepping out of the house, I start walking down our long, driveway and through our gates.

I didn't know where I was going but, I didn't care.

I had been walking and walking – for about an hour or so – to forget. However no matter what, I couldn't.

I thought about Logan's question over, it was like a never-ending movie. The more I thought about it, the more I started feeling distrustful towards Ian. I didn't want to but I did. "Ian's a good person."

'Is he?'

"I don't know." I wept, and like I had before when Ian and I had a fight, I was standing in front of Luna Park. I walk through the gates and look around the park, staring at the people with a gentle smile. However, it didn't last because I felt someone collide against me, and together we fall on the ground with a loud 'thud'.

'Talk about Déjà vu.' I thought, glowering. When I was on two feet, I turned around to face the person who was on the ground, groaning a little. I smile an apologetic smile and offer her a hand. "I'm sorry, I wasn't looking," I said, giggling. With a grateful smile, her hand and mine entwine and I heave her off the ground.

The girl in front of me was about 5'0 with large brown eyes and dark brown hair – which was in loose curls. She was wearing a pair of blue, worn-out jeans and a purple blouse with white polka dots. Standing straight, she started dusting the bit of dirt on her jeans before looking at me with a sweet smile.

"Hi, I'm Valeria but Vale for short." She said, introducing herself, cheerfully.

"I'm Tia Frederick."

"Oh? You're Tia Frederick, I've heard quite a lot!" Her once-sweet smile became an award-winning grin, it was contagious. "You're popular at Saint Paul High School and Saint Paul College."

Saint Paul College, the witch – I mean, Kate's school.

"That's flattering." I muse, giggling. When I caught a glimpse of Valeria staring at me curiously, I arched a brow at her. "What's the matter?"
