My face contorted in confusion, I looked at Leo, whose eyes, I believe, were looking ahead, at Mr. Smith. I could not understand what was in his head because his face was blank. Completely devoid of emotion.

Leo released the brake pedal and the car sped straight towards Mr. Smith. Before I had time to realize anything, the hood of the car stuck Mr. Smith, throwing him backwards into the air before his body hit the ground with a terrifying thud.

I covered my mouth with horror. Oh god, he ran over Mr. Smith.

I was so stunned I couldn't even scream. Everything seemed to me to be a figment of my imagination, but reality was right ahead of my eyes. Mr. Smith was lying there unmoving with blood oozing from his various wounds that scattered his body and face. Most notably, his skull was spread across the road.

"We have to take him to the hospital or else he will die," My own voice sounded unfamiliar and alien to my ears.

He barely acknowledged, seemingly unfazed. The only thing he did was give me a brief warning glance, silently threatening me to shut myself down, and like a coward I did. I was stupid enough to challenge this deranged man.

A minute or so passed by in silence. Despite his earlier treatment towards me, I found myself worrying about him. I feared if not given treatment on time he would bleed to death. But the question is...Is he alive in the first place?

"Out," Was all it came from Leo.

At his words, I turned to him. His sharp, piercing gaze was still fixed on Mr. Smith. Judging by his pale knuckles, it would be wrong to say he was trying to content his ire. Not wanting to further irk him, I flipped the car door open and hopped out. Leo got out of the car and rounded towards the trunk of the car and produced something that my eyes couldn't quite capture before turning back.

Just when I concluded things couldn't get any worse, I was immediately proven erroneous when I saw a large hammer in his right hand. My heart stilled for a moment and my blood ran cold. I wasn't barmy for not to understand his intentions.

My whole body was shaking violently. My ears were buzzing due to the deafening sound of the erratic throb of my ticker.

"Leo please don't," I said desperately, while shaking my head vigorously.

He completely ignored me and started slowly predators walking to where Mr. Smith was still sprawled.

My panicked eyes watched the scene unfold as Leo repeatedly stuck his head with a hammer until his head was completely crushed. His internal organs were lying on the road.

My mind has shut down completely, having a hard time processing what just took place. I was in a state of shock.

A wave of nausea hit me at the gruesome scene. I tried to gulp down the bile that had risen in my throat but with no avail. I emptied all the contents of my stomach.

My head was thumping, cold sweat formed my body until I was sweating profusely. My knees wobbled feeling drained and, before I could collapse, a strong arm wrapped around my waist, breaking my fall and he tugged me, now my back pressing against his front, my posture stiffened at the physical contact. I didn't want this man anywhere near me.

"Please". I don't know why I was pleading, but I just felt the need too.

A moment of silence passed before she spoke. "Shh! it's okay," His breath fanned against the nape of my neck.

"Are you going to kill me?" I exclaimed in dread. I could barely speak.

At this point, I was urging him to lie down and tell me he was not going to hurt me.

"Depend on your action,"

I couldn't hold back the tears anymore and I began to sob. My shoulders shook agitatedly.

"Why are you crying?" He had the audacity to act confused.

"You killed him," I sputtered out between my hiccups.

"Stop crying for another man," His tone was calm, but the warning behind them did not go unnoticed by me.

I know I should have listened but I couldn't stop crying. In fact, it only made me sob harder.

Grabbing a fist full of my hair, he growled outrage at my disobedience. "I said stop crying,"

The breath got knocked out of me when he slammed my head against the hood of the car. He wasn't content with it as he repeatedly hit my head. I was sure he was going to kill me but he stopped but the damage was already done.

I could feel blood rushing through my wound slowly dripping down my face and some entering my eyes, stinging and irritating them. The sharp pain traveling through my head was indescribable. My head was beginning to spin and black dots covered my vision and I was on the verge of passing out.

I attempted to fight the darkness but failed. Finally, tired, my eyes closed and I let darkness envelop me.

Woking up in an unknown room, the first thing I did was jog my memory, trying to remember how I got here, but to no avail. Rubbing my tired eyes, I angled myself into a sitting position and leaned comfortably against the headpost.

I squeeze my eyes and moan in pain when a severe pain hits my head. My hand flew up to my head, trying to soothe the pain, only to find a rough cloth which I assumed was gauze wrapped around my head. Immediately, a realization struck me as my mind drifted back to the ugly dark memories of what had taken place before I passed out.

Dread coursed through my veins. I still can't believe how mercilessly Leo took Mr. Smith's life. I knew Leo had something dark about him, but never for a second did I expect him to be a merciless killer. Obviously, Mr. Smith wasn't a decent human, but does she deserve to die such a horrifying death? Did Leo have the right to snatch someone's life?

Well, the answer is no.

As much as I wanted to deny the fact, I was well aware Leo's action was because of what had taken place at noon. Deep down I was aware that I was responsible for Leo's malicious act towards Mr. Smith. It's too big to be a coincidence that it isn't linked together. It made my heart heavy, I couldn't shake off the guilt that plagued me.

Tears blurred my sight before I broke into sobs. Covering my mouth, I attempted to curb my painful cries so they didn't come too loud. I don't exactly know how long my meltdown was, but after bawling my eyes out, my main focus was to get out of this place.

Without a second thought, I leaped out of bed, ignoring my aching muscles, and advanced towards the door as eagerness to get out of here got the best in me. I grabbed the doorknob and pulled it, but to my disappointment, the door was locked.

Not letting it discourage me, I shrieked loudly, beating the wooden door at the same time, hoping someone would come to my aid after hearing my plead for help.

"Someone help me"

I screamed and screamed until my throat was hoarse. Defeated, I turned to try to get back to bed when suddenly I heard footsteps walking on my way which had my skin prickling up from fear.

I stumbled a few steps back. The door latch shook, followed by the sound of the door opening, causing me to take a sharp intake of breath.
