Chapter 152

1K 56 33

After that horrid dream, I woke up in a cold sweat. It seemed so...real. I turned over, and Blake was still sleeping, so I crept out of bed and went to the bathroom. I ran some cold water and splashed some on my face.

"Babe? Are you okay?" I heard Blake ask.

"Y-yeah. I'm fine," I lied.

I felt his hand on my lower back, and my whole body seemed to get tense under his touch. That dream really fucked me up.

I held my head down and fiddled with my fingers, "huh?"

"Look at me."

I looked at him in the mirror before actually looking at him. Looking at his face made me tear up a little because that dream just played over & over in my head.

He furrowed his eyebrows and ran his thumb across my cheek, "what's wrong?"

"You look pale, and you're burning up," he said, placing the back of his hand against my forehead, "are you getting sick?"

Something like that.

"Probably," I lie again, "I'm just gonna go back to sleep. I have a headache."

He nodded, and I went back in the bedroom to lie down. I watched Blake walk out of the room and about forty-five seconds later, he came back with a bottle of water and an ice pack.

"I brought you Tylenol for your headache and this ice pack to cool you down," he said, handing me the water.

I took the medicine and lied back down as he handed me the ice pack. He got in bed with me and wrapped his arm around my waist, like he always does.

"I love you, baby," his deep, groggy voice resonated in my ear, "get some rest."

"I love you too..." I whispered.

I closed my eyes and slowly drifted back to sleep.

From the moment I woke up this morning, everything has been awkward between Blake & I. Mainly because I made it awkward.

He went out earlier, but he didn't say where and I didn't question it.

"Bri, are you alright? You've been acting weird since we've been here."

I looked over at DJ, who was holding Brielle, then faked a smile.

"Yeah, I'm good. I'm just kinda tired, I lied. I grabbed my keys off the table and stood up from the couch, "I'll be right back. I'm gonna go pick up her nebulizer."

I quickly left the house because I wanted to get back before Blake got home.

Briana has been acting so strange since she woke up early this morning. She wouldn't look me in the eyes at all, and she was being a little distant.

When I got home, I went in the living room and saw DJ & Monique with Brielle.

"Where's Bri?"

"She went to go pick up Brielle's nebulizer," DJ answered.

Monique handed Brielle to me, and she immediately started smiling, which made me chuckle. She reminds me of Briana when she smiles, and it's crazy.

"Blake, what's going on with Bri?" Monique asked.

"I don't know. I know something's bothering her, but she won't tell me what it is."

Besides the whole cheating thing, I don't know what else could be bothering her. Unless...she's still convinced that I'm cheating on her.

I heard the front door open and seconds later, Briana came in the living room. When she saw my face, she looked like she saw a ghost. But when Brielle tried to babble, she smiled - something I hadn't seen all morning.

When I got home, I didn't see Blake's car, so I assumed he wasn't home. But when I walked in the house and in the living room, there he was.

That was so awkward.

"Can we talk for a minute?" he asked, looking straight at me.

He gave Brielle to Monique, and we went upstairs. We went to our bedroom, and he closed the door behind him.

"Are we okay?" he asked.

"Yeah, why?"

"You haven't been able to look me in the face since early this morning," he pointed out.

"Everything's fine."

He sighed, "you're lying again. You still won't even look at me."

He walked over to the bed and sat down, then pulled me onto his lap.

"Briana, why won't you talk to me?"

"I'm talking to you right now."

"You know that's not what I mean." He lifted my chin so I was looking him in the eyes, "ever since you woke up earlier, you've been acting distant."

Because my subconscious wants me to believe you're an adulterous piece of shit.

"Okay, I'll talk," I said, "where were you last night?" I asked, holding my gaze.

"I told you, I can't say."

I sighed in frustration and stood up from his lap, but he grabbed me and pulled me back down.

"Why are you getting so upset?" he asked, "I already told you I'm not cheating on you."

"Okay, but I had to take our daughter to the hospital, Blake. And you didn't even answer your phone, so I automatically assumed the worst. And the dream I had last night did not help."

I had no intentions on telling him about that dream, but I feel like it was bound to happen.

"What dream?"

I explained to him what happened and he listened attentively. Once I was finished, he just looked at me and smiled.

"Bri, listen to me, I would have to be a damn fool to cheat on you. I still regret doing it to you before. I would never wanna hurt you like that again."

I smiled a little and waited for him to finish what he was saying.

"Soon, you'll find out what I was doing but for now, you're just gonna have to trust me," he said, putting his forehead against mine.

He chuckled, probably at the childish pout on my face, and pecked my lips. I tried to get up again, but he grabbed my face and kissed me, making me stumble onto his lap.

"What was that for?" I asked when he pulled away.

"Just because."

I smiled at him and got off his lap. He grabbed my hand, and we went back downstairs.

I really hope I can get my insecurities under control so I can trust Blake.

y'all know i couldn't do that to Bri & Blake.
