I woke up with a start, but I wasn't fully awake, I rolled on my stomach, my body was so sore and I groaned.

My eyes fluttered open but everything was blurry at first, I blinked a few times to clear the grogginess and blurriness from my eyes, when I could see everything properly I realized that I was not on my bed and not even in my room. I was in a small room and its walls were white, a small window and I was on a bed with rails.

I immediately rolled back on my back and sat up, sending waves of pain to my side. I winced.

"How are you feeling?" Came a voice from the side.

I looked at him; he was sitting on a comfortable chair with Sandro soundly asleep in his arms.

"I feel fine. What-" I stopped talking as I remembered the recent events, the explosion, my eyes widened.

"Maria?" Antonio asked with concern and worry in his eyes.

"I am fine. How's Tristan? And what happened? Why?" I asked and shuddered when I remembered that. We were lucky that we weren't too close to the car.

"Am I alright?" I asked doubtfully.

"Bruised side, some scrapes on arm, some first degree burns here and there. Overall you are alright. And Tristan has a mild concussion, some scrapes and burns." He said still looked at me more like studying my every movement.

"Is Sandro okay?" I whispered. The poor child must be terrified.

"I guess so." He said and sighed.

"Look we have to get out of here as soon as possible and before you ask, yes, that explosion was framed by Raphael. bastardo." He said.

I gasped.

"But what about those innocent people who were also there at the time of explosion?" I said with a raised tone.

"2 people were killed and 10 were injured. And that fucker never cared about innocent people, not even a small child." He said angrily, I could see his hold tightened on Sandro.

"B-but how did he know where we were?" I muttered.

Antonio laughed cynically.

"We are mafia Maria and we have a connection." He said, his accent thickened a little when he said that.

"Can you look over Sandro. I have to check on Tristan?" he asked.

"Sure." I said, carefully taking Sandro from him. I laid Sandro beside me and I settled myself back in the uncomfortable bed.

"If you need anything, call me." He ordered, pointing towards a new phone on the side table.

"Sir, Yes, sir." I mumbled and drifted back to sleep.

"Wake up Ria." Someone was shaking me.

"Huh." I asked groggily.

"Ria. I am bored." Sandro pouted.

"How long have you been awake?"I asked, sitting up slowly.

"For a loooooooong time." He said cutely, adding so many O's in long.

"Are you okay baby?" I asked and took him in my lap carefully.

He hummed.

"Where is Papa?" he asked.

"Wanna talk to him?" I asked. He nodded.

I picked up the phone from the table and there was only Antonio's name save in it. I dialed it and gave it to Sandro.

"Sandro you talk to your daddy, I am going to the bathroom, okay?" I said.

He nodded while holding the phone against his ear.

I did my business in the bathroom and took the stock of my injuries, there was dull pain in my side, there were scrapes on my arm and some burns on my arm. I sighed. In short I looked like I was playing in dirt and fire. My hair was a mess. When I came out, Sandro was busy talking with Antonio. I sat down on the bed. The door of the room opened and a male nurse came in.

Uh...he was very big for the nurse job. I mean really buff arms and tall. Something was off about him.

"How are you feeling, miss?" he asked in his deep voice.

His voice gave me shivers, in a bad way.

"I f-feel fine." I said, stuttering. I wanted to smack my head into the wall for stuttering in front of him. I wanted to be confident.

"I have to take you for a test." He said.

"What test? I am perfectly fine." I said loudly, loud enough for Antonio to hear from the phone. I was just hoping that he was listening.

"Miss, you can't say no. Hospital rules." He said and held my wrist in his big hands.

"Hey! What are you doing? I am coming, just stay away from me." I said bravely but from inside I was scared.

Don't panic Maria. I told myself.

I looked back at Sandro, he was staring at me with wide eyes. I knew Antonio was telling him something. I just hope he can come at the right time. I smiled weakly at Sandro.

Big nurse didn't let go of hand but he started dragging me out of the door.

"Leave me alone. I'll report complaints about you. You asshole." I yelled at him. But he chuckled darkly.

There were some people in the corridor. I sighed in relief. I could scream and ask for help.

As if he was reading my mind, he pulled me walk in front of him and he held one of my arms. I felt something sharp poking in my back.

"Don't think about screaming princess." He whispered in my ear.

I gasped. It was a knife.

He was kidnapping me.

I bit my lip to prevent myself from crying, beads of sweat were rolling down my forehead, and I could feel a knife piercing my skin.

Ohmigod, please Antonio...
