After making sure my things were at least in the rooms they should be, I went for a walk down the beach scoping out the scene.

I dig my toes into the sand and play with the fringe on my shirt looking out at the horizon. The sun setting slowly.

I turn around to look at the luxurious houses surrounding mine. My home practically looked like the guest house, if that.

If this wasn't a metaphor for my life, I don't know what is, just small and tucked away doing my own thing.

I sit into the sand watching the waves reach my toes and retreat. I dig my fingers into the wet sand to watch it slip through my fingers, much like my boyfriend Nathan.

I'd caught him cheating on me, although he said "it wasn't what it looked like." When in fact it was what it looked like. He had been hooking up with my so called best friend.

Yet I was still with him trying to work things out.

I huff throwing the sand into the water.

"Hey there." I look up to see Harry jogging towards me. I smile.

"Hi." My voice comes out high.

"It's beautiful isn't it?" He says sitting beside me and adjusting his headband. I chuckle mentally at his headband and man bun.

"Yeah, I could get used to this." I return my gaze to the water rocking upon the shore and out towards the horizon being painted with pinks and yellows.

I roll my eyes as my phone rings. I answer it seeing as though it's Nathan.

"I'm sorry I've got to take this." I say getting up to walk away. Harry nods.

"Hello." I answer meekly.

"Hey babe, can I come over?" He asks. I bite my lip looking at the water retreating from the shore.

"I don't know, are you done with Brooke yet?" I reply snidely. He chuckles. This isn't funny. My life may be a joke but it's not a funny one.

"She came on to me, babe. She practically forced me into it." He claims. I roll my eyes digging my toes in the sand again.

"It takes two to tango," I barely whisper.

"Look, I'm coming over, so we can talk about this." He says. I press my lips with doubt.

"You don't have to, there's nothing to talk about."

"We have something babe, I'm going to fight for us, aren't you?" I roll my eyes. God, let's roll out every cliche, ever.

"No, I'm done with this and I'm done with you." I say with a quick hang up. I know that won't stop him from coming here but it will keep him from talking to me right now.

I walk back over to Harry who's typing away on his own phone.

"I'm really sorry about that." I sigh sitting in the sand with him. He puts his phone away.

"Relationship problems?" He asks with a slight chuckle. I sigh with a smile looking away.

"You know it." I huff dropping my hands into the sand to play with it.

"I have quite the "baby mama drama" as well." He says. I laugh at his trying to be "hip" with his posh British accent

"Oh really?" I ask. He sighs resting his arms on his knees. "Crazed wife?" I assume. He nods.

"I understand my dad used to have one of those." I chuckle. "My mum." I mentally laugh at my shade. He laughs.

"Oh damn." He chuckles leaning back.
