Vanilla's POV

I woke up the next morning and snuggled closer to Daddy. He had gotten hurt last night, and I was worried about him. "Daddy?" I whispered. He didn't answer. "Wakey wakey," I said, trying to shake him awake. "Mmmff... Nilly, let me sleep a little longer..." he mumbled. I wondered how I would wake him up when I got an idea and smiled. I started tickling his left side; big-sis Cassy had shown me that he was really ticklish there. "AHHHAHAHA!" he laughed, jumping up at the sudden sensation. "Nihihilly, stohohop!" I giggled and kept tickling him until I knew he was fully awake. "Okahay, okahahay, I'him awahake! Stohop!" he wailed, begging for me to halt my assault. I stopped tickling him and let him get up before I hugged him tightly. "I'm glad you're ok, Daddy," I said happily. "Aww, thanks," he said, still giggling a bit from the sudden attack. He looked around the now-empty room. "Uhh... where's everymon else?" he asked. "They went downstairs; they're probably having breakfast," I said. "Oh... sorry if I kept you up here," he said sheepishly. "You didn't!" I said. "I just woke up and then woke you up." He chuckled. "I see," he said. "Well, let's head downstairs then." I climbed onto his back and we left the room.

When we made it to the dining room, we saw that everymon was just gathering around to eat. "Oh, good morning, Big Bro! Good morning, Nilly!" Big-Brother Kin greeted us. "Hi, Big-Brother Kin!" I said cheerfully. "Mornin', y'all," Daddy said, still a little sleepy. "I was just about to come and wake you up," Big-Sis Spine growled at him. "That would have been pleasant," Daddy said sarcastically, and I hid behind him. I didn't like it when Big-Sis Spine was mean to him. Daddy turned around and patted my head, trying to calm me down. Daddy and I sat down and everyone began to eat.

When we finished eating and put everything away, Big-Sis Cream came up to Daddy. "Foly, would you be able to go to the Town and grab something for me?" she asked. "Sure!" he said. "What do you need?"

"There are a few things I forgot to get for food on the way here," she explained. "Would you be ok getting them for me? I can pay you back if you'd like."

"Nah, it's fine. I have plenty of money to spare. I'll get it for ya," he said, smiling. "Thanks," Big-Sis Cream said, smiling back. "Can I come with you?" I asked Daddy. "I don't know... I don't want you to get lost," he said. "I won't! I'll stay on your back! Pleeeease?" I pleaded. He thought about it for a moment. "...alright, as long as you stay close," he said. "Yay!" I said happily. "Thank you!"

"You two have fun!" Big-Sis Cream called. "Will do!" Daddy called back as we left. On the way, we ran into Big-Sis Rizer, who had been reading outside. "Mornin', Rizer," Daddy greeted her. She looked up from her book and smiled. "Good morning, Foliage. Good morning, Vanilla," she greeted us back. "Where are you going?"

"Just goin' to the town," Daddy said. "Big-Sis Cream wanted us to get some food!" I said cheerfully. "Ah! Would you mind if I joined you?" she asked. "I've been needing to go to a bookstore for a while."

"Sure! The more, the merrier!" Daddy said, and I nodded excitedly. "Have you been to the town before?" he asked. "No," Big-Sis Rizer replied. "I've lived near it, but I've never been there before."

"Well, in that case, it'll be yours and Nilly's first time there," he replied. "Really? You've never been there before?" she asked me. "No. Daddy's been too worried about me getting lost," I said, a little sadly. "I just prefer to stay on the safe side, but you do need to see it at some point," he said, scratching under my chin. "I can understand that," Big-Sis Rizer said. "I prefer to be safe as well." Daddy nodded in agreement. "So... shall we be off?" he asked. Big-Sis Rizer giggled. "I guess we shall," she said.

As we walked through the woods, I thought I heard something in the bushes. I looked over but didn't see anything. Daddy noticed this and looked as well, listening carefully. "Is everything alright?" Big-Sis Rizer asked. "I... I think I heard something in the bushes," I said worriedly. Daddy took a step in front of us. "Whatever you are, reveal yourself!" he said, glaring into the bushes. After a few moments, someone stepped out. It was Big-Brother Kin. "Hey!" he said. "I overheard you talking about going to the town. I was just wondering if I could join you guys."
