Both of them take seven rounds around the Holi fire.
Pandit ji :- first vachan
In this verse, the girl tells the groom that whenever he goes on a pilgrimage, he should take her along.
Manik :- I don't go anywhere without you even now and won't go later either.
second vachan
In the second verse, the bride asks the groom to respect her parents in the same way as they respect their parents. So that there is no dispute of any kind in our family.
Manik :- Even before you said this, I have accepted your family as my own.
third vachan
In the third verse, the girl asks the groom to promise her that he will support her in all three stages of life (youth, maturity and old age).
Manik :- I don't know whether I will be able to see all my stages or not but as long as I am in this world I will never even think about any other girl.
fourth vachan
In the fourth verse, the girl tells the groom that till now you were completely free from the worries of family. But now that you are going to get married, the responsibility of all the problems of the family in future will be on your shoulders.
Manik :- I want you to give me all your worries and problems and take all my happiness and joys.
As soon as Nandini heard these words, tears started flowing from her eyes.
fifth vachan
In this verse, the girl tells the groom that after marriage, you have to take my advice while doing your household work, transactions and other expenses.
Manik :- I will not make any of commitment without asking you.
sixth vachan
In this verse, the girl says to the groom that if I sit among my friends or other women, you will not insult me there for any reason. Along with this, you have to distance yourself from gambling or any bad work.
Manik :- I will be loyal to you my whole life and will never let myself get involved in wrong activities.
seventh vachan
In this last verse, the girl tells the groom that he will consider other women like his mother or sister and if he promises not to make anyone a partner in the mutual love between husband and wife, then I am ready to spend my life with you.
Manik :- No one can ever take your place in my life.
Both of them had tears in their eyes but these were tears of happiness.
Both of them get married as per Hindu customs, after which Kabir brings the marriage paper and both of them sign it.
Pandit ji :- From today you both are husband and wife, you both have become partners in each other's happiness and sorrow for seven births. Now both of you take blessings of your elders.
Manik slowly whispered :- I want your support not just for seven births but in every single of my birth.....after all you are my better half now. Even after seven births, I will not leave you, I have found you with great difficulty.
He places kiss on her forehead.
