~Poppy~
I'd had to convince Sebastian I didn't agree to marry him because of my stupid mistake in the car. As great as it was, grinding on your forced marriage husbands rock hard cock through his suit outside of a creepy looking building with likely a man fighting for his life because of his hands inside, wasn't exactly romantic.
He'd followed his promise on dropping the contracts by on Tuesday so I could read through them, calling as soon as my dad's car had left the drive on Wednesday morning. Me and mum had spent 3 hours combing through it and he'd put clauses in there that no harm would come to me. That was something I wasn't expecting. I was still expecting this to be stupidly dangerous. To walk into his house as his wife and instantly be knocked down a few pegs. But that clause meant he couldn't do that. My dad would likely see that as weakness which is why it was the 4th point on there. He'd see that, laugh, and not bother reading the rest. The fine print that clarified the money was for me and would be coming with me and that my mother would fall under his protection in the event 'she needs it'. My dad would see Sebastian as stupid and by the time it was discovered, it would have been signed and I'd have some kind of hope.
"What are your plans this weekend Poppy?" I'm stood in the kitchen, waiting to be dismissed but he won't let me go. My father sits there pulling through his newspaper slowly. I hate Friday's. Friday's he doesn't work. He doesn't go and play golf. He's just here. Being an ass to me and mum. He looked up and I instinctively tug on my jumper sleeve.
"I don't have any." He nods once, continues staring at me.
"Cian is coming over today. Go change." Not a chance. I look at the clock. 8.37. He'll be here at quarter to. With Dorian and Nicky and Stephen. They're going to collect my things and Sebastian is getting me out of here. In 8 minutes, he'll be here and Cian won't be able to touch me again. Neither of them will. "Now Poppy." I suck in a breath, turn around and slowly head up the millions of flights to my room, looking around at the space I've tidied over and over again. Cian was in here last night. No more than 5 minutes with me on my knees and I'm still feeling sick. I change into printed midi dress with a slit on the side, avoiding wearing white because my dad might think I'd planned Sebastian turning up and he'd look at things closer. So white with blue flowers on it. A dress I've worn before when he's told me to change for Cian. A dress I intend on burning along with half of my wardrobe the second I can. Sebastian said he'd filled my wardrobe there anyway. I was only bringing things I wanted to know were gone from the planet. Clothes Cian had me in. I could give them to charity but honestly, I wouldn't wish that kind of bad luck on anyone.
"There you are." I turn my head to the door watching Cian lean against the door frame. "Pretty dress."
"Thanks."
"Gonna take it off for me?"
"I just put it on." I turned back around to my bookshelves. I didn't own many books. Dad had said they were a waste of money. Unless they were teaching me something. Most of these were gifts from people I'd dated who found out I like to read. Cian wrapped his hand around my mouth, hand instantly grabbing to pull the hem of my dress up. I wriggled under his grasp, trying to get out.
"You're feeling very feisty today kitten. You know you want it. I bet you're dripping for me again like you were last night." He breathed on my neck. Then he stopped. All at once. I could hear the whispers of the earphone in his ear. Not what was being said but that someone was giving him instructions. He let me go and I let breathed. "What is it with Di Leo and you huh? You're a waste of fucking space. Hopefully he'll realize that soon and I can get back to doing what I do best." He tapped a hand on my cheek, nodding at the door. "Downstairs. Now." I slid past him, practically running down the stairs.
He was here. Bang on time like he promised. Shirt and suit pants without the jacket today. He narrowed his eyes on me instantly, looking behind me as Cian stopped behind me halfway down the stairs.
"Sebastian." I push all energy I can manage into making myself sound normal. "What are you doing here?"
"I came to talk to your dad about some business." He turned his head to my dad and raised an eyebrow. "Shall we?" My dad nodded and Sebastian took a few steps in the same direction before calling, "Nikolai, stay with Poppy." without looking back.
"Cian." Cian followed after them, passing around me carefully. I stepped down the last remaining stairs slowly, smiled at Nicky who offered me a quick wink. Nicky followed his instructions, staying with me until we were shouted through to his office a solid 40 minutes later. I walked in, uneasy, and took my seat opposite my father, Sebastian sitting in the identical chair beside me at least 2 or 3 feet away. He scribbled his name on the paper contract and looked up at me. He didn't sugar coat it. Just outright told me I was marrying Sebastian. There and then. That I didn't have a choice so to not even try and argue against it. That I was lucky to have had him come forward and should count myself so. He pushed the marriage certificate over to me, dropping a pen on top and demanding I signed it. I hesitated.
I had to be mad to do this. Had to be insane. All of this could be a crazy scheme. Too well thought out but not something I would put past men like my father and Sebastian. I've known of the man's existence for 5 weeks. Was I really dumb enough to sign my life away to him? Cian sighed behind me and I grabbed the pen, quickly signing before sliding it to Sebastian, allowing him to do the same.
I guess I'm married then? Weird. Doesn't feel any different.
