Ja'Kiya thank the store clerk taking the bag full of painkillers off the counter and exiting the store.
"What am I really here for? Why did I survive my previous attempts?" She thought to herself wiping the runaway tears from her face
Entering her car and closing the door quickly she opened one of the bottles of Tylenol ultra strength swallowing five pills dry.
"I should've died years ago, it should've been me" her thoughts proceeded to cloud her judgment as she made the short journey home. "what am I good for?"
Zedadiah stood at Ja'Kiya's front door pissed at the fact she hasn't been answering his calls or text messages for the past two days.
He would've come to her house the minute he realized she'd been ignoring him but he had an unexpected trip he couldn't miss which prevented him from confronting her sooner.
"This shit bout ta piss me off" Zedadiah murmured to himself while knocking on the door once more, he could hear her phone ringing through the door. "Kiya open the fucking door"
"I miss him so much, I should've known better" Ja'Kiya sobs taking more pills as she parked in a spot away from the apartment entrance. "Mazi deserved so much better than to die alone, my sweet boy"
By now she'd taken over fifteen pills in five minutes, shoving everything back into her bag and exited the car moving sluggishly towards her building.
"I can't wait for this to be over"
"Why does loneliness feel so exhausting?"
"It'll be over soon"
The elevator doors opened just as she reached up to touch the up button, stepping inside she tapped her floor number taking the short ride up.
"I failed my parents once before this shouldn't matter"
Zedadiah resisted the urge to kick her door in and walked away, texting his brother to come home.
He'd had enough of being ignored, he'd grown used to Ja'Kiya being around calling or texting him things he didn't care for. Although it annoyed him he felt at ease knowing she was enjoying her free time doing whatever she pleased and keeping him updated as she did so.
Stumbling out of the elevator Ja'Kiya drops the bag loudly causing Zedadiah to look her way, immediately he goes to her angry that she left her phone and the fact that he couldn't get in contact with her for a full forty-eight hours.
"Deadass?" he questions picking up the bag and holding heavy eye contact with her. "why the fuck you been ignoring me? Why are you going out and leaving your phone in the house Ja'Kiya?"
"Shhh why are you yelling, I hear you" she yawns taking the bag, walking slowly to her apartment door while taking out her keys
"What's wrong with you? You moving like you off something" observing her from behind he watched her struggle to put her key into the door. "what's in the bag?"
"Mind your business and go home, please. I don't even know why you're here"
Snatching the key from her and gently pushing her aside Zedadiah used it and opened the door gesturing her inside.
Thanking him lowly Ja'Kiya stumbles inside with a small smile, kicking her shoes off by the door she goes to her room with him following behind her.
"Kiya I ain't gon ask you again"
Humming Ja'Kiya enjoyed the feeling of being spun around as she lay flat on her back, holding the bag tightly in her left hand.
"Finally" she thought with a lazy grin
