It was that one decision that she didn't want to make. Belly Conklin was at a party with her boyfriend, Jeremiah Fisher, but never in her life did she want to go back home as badly as she did in that moment. Belly wanted to run until she couldn't see the tip of her nose anymore. She wanted to hide away. Belly and Jeremiah have now been together for two years, which Belly took as a long time, but what she didn't know was when she and Jeremiah had their huge fight before spring break, everything was different for him.

Jeremiah came across the same infinity necklace that Conrad had gifted Belly on her sixteenth birthday. But instead of asking why she still had it, he caused a fight, arguing with her about why she still held onto something that was supposed to mean nothing to her. With the fallout, Jeremiah went away to Cabo for spring break, and when he came back their relationship continued.

Belly always thought that her boyfriend was faithful, but when she was in the bathroom stalls, she overheard a girl named Lacie talking about a sexual encounter with Jeremiah in Cabo. Belly didn't know what to do about it, but she did take Jeremiah on about it. And now they were sitting in her dorm room, contemplating whether or not they should still fight.

"Why do we keep on talking about this when neither have anything to say?" Belly asked.

Her eyes were red from the crying and her voice was hoarse. She didn't want to continue anymore. She's had it. Her boyfriend was unfaithful to her, after everyone told her he was the right brother to be with, and she couldn't help but think about how her time with Conrad was.

They never fought about things. They were always quiet. Maybe because they were too far to ever argue about big things. They were always talking about the good old times. The times they shared with Susannah at the beach house in Cousins.

Belly V/O - Hell, I miss Susannah. She would have told me what to do. She would take one look at the situation and she would have told me that no boy was worth crying over. And now? Now I'm sitting in front of Jeremiah Fisher, the boy who was always faithful to me until recently, while I couldn't even look at him.

"Marry me," Jeremiah said.

Belly looked at her boyfriend while it was clear that she thought he was joking. She bolted out laughing, lowering her head. She was laughing so hard she was crying. Jeremiah looked confused at her. He didn't think any of it was funny. He was being serious. Belly stood up as she walked towards the kitchen. She didn't want to look at Jeremiah. In that moment, she looked at the picture that was on her kitchen counter.

She smiled at the picture and picked it up

She smiled at the picture and picked it up. Belly and her brother, Steven, have been friends with Conrad and Jeremiah since they were born. They were just always friends. Until Belly took it one step further, first with Conrad, and then with Jeremiah. She looked at the boy standing beside her, the boy with the emerald eyes, and mousy brown hair. The first boy she ever cried over. Ever slow danced with. Ever loved. She had taken the picture and put it into her handbag. She grabbed that, her duffel bag, and a suitcase that was standing in the hallway. She walked towards the door as she took one last look at Jeremiah. This time looking him in the eye.

"You're free now, Jeremiah Fisher. This time, we are actually broken up. I'm not marrying you. And I'm not forgiving you. You have what you wanted. We are done," Belly said, a type of certainty in her voice.

"Belly, please. Don't... Don't do this," Jeremiah said as Belly shook her head.

Belly V/O - With one last look at him, I went out of the college dorms. I went to my car throwing the suitcase in the back. I got in at front, looking as Jeremiah was standing in front of my car. I just looked at him. I didn't have anything more to say to him. Jeremiah Fisher, I release you from my heart. You are free.
