"Scourge get back down here!" Shadow hollered angrily, glaring at the green hedgehog stomping into his room upstairs.
"Dad calm down! You know how Scourge can get," Sonic said, still holding the older hedgehog back from strangling his adoptive brother.
"I'm getting tired of this,Sonic," Shadow stated, now calm again, "this is the sixth time this week. I'm going to have to kick him out."
Sonic's eyes widened, "w-what?! You can't do that! Where is he gonna go?!"
"That isn't my problem. Im tired of his behavior," Shadow knew he was being harsh, but he could no longer go through the stress of watching over Scourge.
Scourge sat at the foot of his bedroom door, listening to the whole thing.
"That bastard," he muttered angrily, trying to ignore the pain in his heart. His eyes softened when he heard Sonic defend him.
'At least one person in this family cares about me' he thought.
He grabbed a duffle bag from under his bed, and began to pack.
"Dad you can't do this! He's part of the family!" Sonic begged, following behind Shadow as they went upstairs.
"I've made up my mind, Sonic," Shadow said, walking up to the door of Scourge's room and opening it.
His eyes widened when he found the room empty. Sonic looked around.
"Scourge?" He called out. He walked over to the bed, finding a note.
The handwriting was very sloppy, but Sonic was able to read it:
"Don't bother looking for me, Sonic. I'll see you soon little bro. Goodbye Shadow. -Scourge," Sonic read aloud.
Sonic looked up at Shadow, eyes wide. He headed for the door, "we have to go find h-" he suddenly yelped in suprise when Shadow pulled him back.
"Didn't you read the note?! He wanted to leave! He doesn't want to come back!" Shadow said.
Sonic's eyes filled with sadness and anger,"you don't care about him at all!" He shouted before storming out of Scourge's room.
Shadow winced when he heard the door to Sonic's room slam shut. He sighed and rubbed his temples, walking into his room.
'I'll talk to him tommorow.' He thought.
Sonic opened his window and jumped out, landing on the grass below.
'I'm coming to find you, bro, no matter what dad says.' He thought, a determined grin on his face before he sped off.
"Ah, Scourge the Hedgehog. What brings you to my lair?" Eggman asked, a wide grin on his face.
Scourge walked up to him, a serious look on his face, "I'm here to make a deal with you, Doc."
"Oh? And what would that be?" The scientist asked, rubbing his mustache.
"We work together, and I'll help you destroy Shadow the Hedghog."
