SeonghwaWe all finished dance practice and for the first time for weeks, I was actually satisfied with my progress. I looked around to find Hongjoong like I usually did when I was happy, at this point I've accepted it.
He was talking to Mingi in the corner and while I was walking over, he left. My brow furrowed once I reached Mingi. "Where's he going? I was about to ask what he wanted for dinner."
"Oh, he's going to the studio. He's not eating tonight. More for us, right?" Mingi chuckled like it was no big deal, and I guess for him it wasn't.
But it was for me.
I tried to muster a smile. "Okay...yeah."
I was overreacting like I always did when Hongjoong wasn't coming home, which was almost constantly. I was just growing frustrated. I didn't feel like I asked for much, I just wanted to see him and be in the same room with him for more than five fucking minutes!
I went to the bathroom to hide my tears, quickly washing my face, the tears mixing in with the water and I couldn't tell which was which.
I just missed him!
I found Wooyoung in his room like I normally did, having his nightcap.
"Mind if I join you?" I asked.
He scoffed, ready to make a comment until he saw me actually grab the soju instead of the water. He was used to me pretending just to keep him company but tonight I didn't feel like pretending.
"Are you okay?" He asked, his tone filled with worry as he eyed me warily.
I shrugged, already pouring myself a shot. I was a huge lightweight so I didn't usually drink. Especially since certain traumatic events that happened in my life.
I downed it quickly, already pouring another shot.
"Hyung, slow down." Wooyoung said. "You're worse than me. What's going on?"
"Hongjoong is at the studio again." I said like it answered everything. Wooyoung's face turned grim because for him, it did answer everything.
Was I really that pathetic to them? Did they all figure it out so easily?
"Fair." He huffed, pouring me another shot. I already made dinner so I had nothing else to do other than get wasted tonight.
After a couple of hours, Wooyoung was carrying me to my room. The moment he dropped me on the bed, I grabbed my phone.
"What are you doing, Hwa?" He asked.
"I'm gonna call him." I slurred.
"That's not a good idea."
"I don't care." I managed, ignoring his warning. I just wanted to hear his voice.
Deciding that he couldn't stop me, Wooyoung went back to his room to get some rest.
Hongjoong's phone went straight to voicemail and I sighed, leaning against the bedpost to try and keep myself upright.
The line beeped.
