"Aren't you always freezing?" Mabel asked. "I don't think I've ever seen you without at least three layers on."

"Do you admire me so often that you know this?" The Brit said with a cocky grin, Mabel bumped him in response.

"Look, nobody liked him but can we all just be grateful he's gone? Say something nice and move on!"

"Sh*t," Mabel commented, an expression crowding her face Callum couldn't quite place.

"Does anyone have any respect for the dead in this building?"

"Excuse me," another woman stood up. "That apartment is mine, hm? I lived next to that miserable man for eight years and I need those extra rooms."

"Well, yes, Mrs Idoko, we have you down on the waiting list-"

Mrs Idoko immediately cut Bunny off. "Ah! Ah! Ah! Ah! There is no waiting list. The apartment is mine."

A man started softly crying in front of the four true crime fanatics, hugging himself, a tissue in his hand. Callum recognised the man as Howard. He was one of the only people he knew in the building because of his cat, Evelyn, who'd he'd often feed if the cat climbed up the fire escape.

"Excuse me? Were you close with Tim?" Charles asked, tapping Howard lightly on the shoulder.

"And do you consent being recorded? Just say anything to agree," Oliver cut in, receiving a glare from Callum.

"No, please," he answered before more tears came to his eyes. "Last night... sorry."

"It's alright, Howard, take your time," Callum assured the man who nodded to him. Mabel looked at him in surprise for knowing the man's name.

The grieving man rushed out a sentence but no one being able to pick up what he had said. "Time, please. Thank you. We're gonna cut. Um, I like the emotion but I kinda need you to enunciate better."

"Oliver!" Callum exclaimed with a scoff. "Don't listen to him, just tell us when you're ready," he continued, giving Howard a friendly smile.

Howard took a deep breath and talked slower. "My cat, my beautiful Evelyn... she died last night."

"Oh, Howard," Callum commented sympathetically.

"Did you say Evelyn died?" Uma turned around, shocked at the news. Quickly, the news of Evelyn's death spread about the meeting like wildfire causing all the residents to mumble between each other.

"Maybe we should make a podcast about Evelyn," Charles commented.

It had been about an hour since the memorial, Charles and Oliver were hunting down a sea witch and Mabel had fled to her flat. The Brit had managed to get in a quick musical session with Jan before she had to leave for her proper rehearsal.

Callum knew there was something up with Mabel, the way she talked to Charles and reacted to people's comments about Tim. That was why he was knocking on her flat door.

"It was fun, mostly. Until the end," Callum heard Mabel say as he knocked on her door. "Just a minute!"

"Hi," the Brit greeted the woman as she opened the door. "Thought I'd check up on you."

"Okay..." Mabel replied, gesturing him inside, closing the door behind him. "Why?"

Callum took a few moments to reply due to being distracted by looking around Mabel's flat. "Oh, sorry. I just- the way you talked to Charles this morning."

Mabel hummed a response before allowing a silence to fall between the two. "I think the speech Charles gave us yesterday about his father was a lie," Mabel began but Callum stayed silent to allow the girl to continue her reasoning. She walked over to the couch and picked up her laptop, a few moments later she turned the screen to him, playing a YouTube video.
